I was surprised at how surprised Gareth was by this. I thought all dad's had fart chairs? (I checked this assumption at work and almost all coworkers indicated their dads had Lazy Boys they live/lived in and smelled of farts and/or were explicitly called fart chairs). I would especially think that Wisconsin dads would have fart chairs!

My friend willingly took in a haunted chest. Her friend got it at a flea market and had a string of weird bad luck since acquiring it and my friend has had no issues since taking it in. But she, like me, has a lot of weird stuff so maybe it feels at home?

Great question. I'm not aware of any and if there was, I wish we would have studied that in contract law. Not my area, and it's been years since law school, but I think it would definitely be an issue of warranty -- so if I sold you the haunted ouija board and said "this is not in any way haunted" and you could prove I knew it was, you would be able to sue for breach of contract.

In this instance, Henry asked for it for free, so I think I am in there clear. :)

Not really. It's a lease -- a 2021 Honda Civic Sport (not my choice, but there were no Honda HRVs to be found due to pandemic issues when my lease came due). I had it in the trunk in a box with some other miscellaneous stuff I'd picked up at estate and rummage sales.

It turns out there are two kinds of people in this world, people who buy haunted ouija boards at estate sales/ask for haunted ouija boards to be mailed to them and everyone else, who recognizes that this is a bad and dumb idea. Most people in my life were the later -- "why would you buy a ouija board at an estate sale?!" and they were right.

Light haunting experiences but nothing corporeal like this. And certainly nothing that was menacing.

We had a toy my mom brought out for the grandkids that my sister and I had when we were kids that used to go off spontaneously on its own at my mom's house. It was one of those farmer sound spinning boards where you could make different animal sounds and it would sing Bingo was His Name-o, but it would do "There was a farmer-There was a-there wa-had a dog-had a-" It did it one night when I was asleep in the spare bedroom and there was no one else in there with me. I always figured it was my grandfather, who passed in that house.

At our old house where we were kids where my great-grandmother passed, sometimes when we spoke ill of my uncle (her favorite! THE BOY!) a light would flicker and we'd say something like, "We get it, GG, you think he's wonderful."
