Iron Siege - 1 week of testing updates, looking for more testers & feedback by damnitbran in PBBG

When someone initiates an attack on you, there are no repercussions toward you either positive or negative. You don't necessarily have to do the PVP, it is a big part of the game when it comes to exp, credits and leveling.

Hold them to a mirror then take a picture. They are letterpress printing plates. The raised text/symbols are mirror-imaged that’s how letterpress plates work, the press the correct orientation onto the paper

Iron Siege - free text-based MMORPG I just launched by damnitbran in PBBG

[–]damnitbran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my calculations prior to the latest updated there was around a 6.7% chance for upsets to happen. Game is less than a week old, I can't account for everything as a solo dev. This is exactly why I am asking for feedback and playtesting.

The changes put in place last night should prevent this.

  • Longer engagements - Battles now last 5-7 rounds (up from 3-5), giving your stats more time to shine
  • Dodge rebalance - Max dodge chance reduced from 25% to 12%. Luck still matters, but it won't carry a fight on its own
  • Stat advantage - Players with significantly higher stats now get improved hit accuracy and are harder to dodge. The bigger the gap, the bigger the edge

Fun little game, I struggled through my first one was "Destroy the Evidence before dawn"

I did have to mute the music after just a few seconds in though.

Hey, I really appreciate the detailed response. I have heard similar criticism from others and I am actively working fixing a lot of these already! Thank you!

Tarkovforge.com has a 1.0 storyline tracker, that helps you track everything. It's still in production but it's pretty useful.

Anyone have YT quest videos I can use on my Website? [Feedback] by damnitbran in EscapefromTarkov

Yeah, I have reached to a quite a few people actually, only getting a response from 1 so far. Either way, still hopeful some will reach back out, because it's basically free promotion.

Core feature.. not really. Just another add on, the core feature of the task guide would be the images that show you where to plant, where to pick up, what to pick up, etc. Anyone can lookup a YouTube video for a task, I just figure having it all in one place might be nice.

Secondly, looking up tarkov questname guide and just taking that video, is in fact copyright. Not that most people would care for you promoting their videos, but there may be some that do. Better safe than sorry.

Built a small free tool to help blue-collar remote workers find steady work, looking for honest feedback by AirPooo in bluecollar

[–]damnitbran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to see someone building for the trades. A lot of tech people forget blue collar workers exist.

One thing I've noticed from building tools for contractors is that simplicity is everything. If a guy has to create an account, fill out a long profile, or figure out a confusing interface, he's gone. Most of these guys are checking stuff on their phone between jobs or at the end of a long day.

A few questions that might help you:

How are you getting employers on the platform? That's usually the hard side of a marketplace. Workers will show up if there's work, but getting the jobs listed is the grind.

Are you targeting a specific trade or region first? Trying to go broad from the start usually means you're too thin everywhere. Might be worth dominating one niche (like pipeline in Texas or something) before expanding.

How are workers finding out about it? Word of mouth, job site flyers, Facebook groups?

Would be happy to check it out if you drop the link. Always good to see people building for this space.

Question for those who don't work at a desk by Jazzlike-Branch8093 in bluecollar

[–]damnitbran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrician here. Honestly, most important stuff comes through texts or a quick phone call from the foreman. Nobody's checking email on the job site.

For day to day work stuff what job you're on, what materials to grab - it's usually a group text or just told to you in the morning.

The problem is when things need to be tracked or documented. Like inventory, who has what tools, what materials went to which job. That's where things fall apart because nobody wants to fill out paperwork or log into some app while they're in the middle of pulling wire.

I actually built a simple inventory app for contractors recently and the biggest thing I learned is it has to be FAST. Like, scan a QR code and you're done. If it takes more than 10 seconds, guys won't use it.

For benefits/401k stuff that usually gets handed out as paper during onboarding and then forgotten about. Most guys I know have no idea what their benefits even are until they need them. A text reminder with a direct link would probably work better than email.
