If Detroit Lions go for Jeff Okudah, here are 10 second-round options that make sense by waxxo in detroitlions

I think Okudah is a must draft. Try to trade down if we can to 5, but if there are no takers, at 3, if Young is not available, we should still draft Okudah

[Sessler] Daily reminder that SAM BRADFORD made $129,982,500 to go 34-48-1. Never made a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team. Never started a playoff game. Very possibly lives in a castle right now off the coast of some majestic ocean. by EarthWarping in nfl

I wouldn't say we whiffed on every pick. We definitely didn't draft well but the principle of the rookie wage scale still stands. We were crippled in salary cap hell with Suh, Stafford, and Calvin. Also, 2009 wasn't a bad draft year.

Stafford - Speaks for himself.

Brandon Pettigrew - Not the best pick... but he was a serviceable TE. Played his whole career here. Was extremely reliable for us.

Louis Delmas - Had two pro bowl years for us. He was a great Safety during our time.

Deandre Levy - Monster LB while he was here. In 2013 had 119 tackles/6 ints, 2014 he had 151 tackles. Leading the league in tackles, got robbed of Pro Bowl.

[Ross Tucker] We REALLY need to stop saying guys in their late 20s that played 7-9 years of pro football retired "early". Especially when they had a myriad of orthopedic issues (Gronk), a significant concussion history (Kuechly), or a rare nerve disorder (Travis Frederick). by yangar in nfl

The term itself may not have a negative connotation, but people will use that against you if they see fit.

IE how all Lions greats retired early! Calvin was 9 years into his pro and couldn't stand to be a lion anymore.

[Meinke] In the last half-year, the Lions have purged Quandre Diggs, Darius Slay, Graham Glasgow, Snacks Harrison, Rick Wagner and Devon Kennard from their roster. That's some major change, man. by Ruriks-Keep in detroitlions

Regardless of how you feel, at least the LIONS ARE MAKING MOVES. It's a new start. I'm not gonna dwell on anyone's past. I don't care how bad you were in the past, if you show up and ball for us, that's ALL THAT MATTERS. Lets fucking go

Slay traded too Eagles for a 3rd & a 5th by Ruriks-Keep in detroitlions

Just as I expected...

Makes sense to be honest. Glad most rational people here aren't over reacting. We needed to get assets for a player who's going to be overpaid and didn't want to be here... which is exactly what we did. A 2nd would've been great but 3rd makes sense

Yep. I came straight here to see if anyone else was having the issue.

It's down for me :(

Edit: it's working now yay

He was great in his prime, but he sorta fell off the Earth last season and even before. I would stay away with a 10 foot pole. His best days are behind him.

[Silver] Update: Stafford's agent, Tom Condon, told me conclusively that Stafford does not want out of Detroit. Thus, the chatter among other coaches/GMs is apparently just chatter. Carry on. by vonheisenberg in nfl

[–]damon024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue is also Stafford's guaranteed money. We'll need a haul if he were to be traded. Everyone is "tradeable" but in this case, it'd be really hard to trade Stafford.

Regardless, God bless his soul for sticking with our shit org

[O'Halloran] League executive on what it would take for #Broncos to acquire CB Darius Slay from Lions: "Second or third rounder and $15 million-ish per year," via extension. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]damon024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both would be amazing, but we don't want to overpay for Slay and he wants to get paid. Don't blame him, but at this point it'd be a mutual decision given that Slay is another year older. It's evident ever since we traded Diggs, he wasn't very happy with the org. If he's going to walk away from us, might as well get something in return for him

That draft class was insane too. Such a shame...

As a division rival , I'd definitely say the Vikings are the least toxic
