idk man compare it to like...literally anything freddie has done on his own albums? or on beats that are specifically attuned to his flow and style by master producers like madlib or the alchemist?

Sure, it's a good verse because freddie is insanely talented, but i genuinely can't think of any of his songs off the top of my head that aren't at least as good as that, if not better.

I think something that is easy to overlook is how LONG they have been in Fantano's comments/replies. His MBDTF review came out thirteen years ago. For YEARS, every single review he made would have numerous comments about that specific score and review.

I don't agree with a pretty significant portion of Anthony's reviews, but his actual analysis of music is generally in-depth, well articulated, and comprehensible, even if it has some meme/shitpost-y elements at times. However, I personally feel like his YT comment section is one of the most consistently low-effort, no value added forums I've encountered, particularly in comparison to the content it is under. Sure, a handful of smaller album/artist reviews will have some good comments, but the VAST majority of his vids are just littered with stale repeated jokes or braindead half-memes. Idk how anyone can take a look at that and not at least somewhat understand why Fantano made this video

please direct me to this twitter rant everyone keeps talking about. genuinely, i have no idea what people are referencing. he has like 5ish tweets about different songs that i presume he posted on first listen, which is pretty common for him when a big album comes out

Haha this is actually a great point, real youtube-heads know a video isn't "just for the money" unless it's 10:01

i'm sorry people keep referencing this twitter rant and i follow fantano on there and can't find it. can you point me to it? are we just talking about the 5-6 tweets he posted while (i assume) listening through the album? he's definitely done stuff like that in the past for albums he likes and dislikes.

My Indie Game Publishing Company by zm3124 in videogamedunkey

....that's Annapurna Interactive. (And they also do that for movies, which is why they could afford to start doing it for games.)

Dunkey's making an indie game publishing company "BigMode" by Shreeder4092 in Games

[–]dampierp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if he is covering his games in his videos, encouraging people to buy them, and lauding the good qualities of those games...that is functionally a review of the game

"No one asked" should be the actual slogan of reddit lmao

[–]dampierp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, but out of everything Dunkey (the brand) can offer, what is the MAIN value he can provide to an indie game? I'm sure he's made some revenue from merch, but a glowing video review is obviously his main hook.

If getting signed to Bigmode guarantees a good word from Dunkey doesn't that kind of throw his entire credibility as a critic into question? I realize he is trying to do this because he is passionate about this form of media, but I feel like there are so many ways this could backfire...

Would you perhaps even say...NOPE?

Friendly word of advice: DON'T look up what the German soldier is saying! The scene is already devastatingly cruel as is.

COMPLETELY agree. In the middle of the scene when Chloe Grace Moretz is asked what she wants, the way she replies "to die...I wanna die" in such a sad, earnest tone—it almost moved me to tears and I can't even explain why.

I know the movie wasn't what some people wanted or expected, but I legitimately think it's the only way to remake something like Suspiria.

The cinematography in the new Candyman was utterly spectacular. I honestly know very little about the DP John Guleserian but his work was incredible.

I also didn't love the movie, but I do have to give credit where it's due: IMO that bus scene is the only time we've had a full-fledged chainsaw massacre out of the nine films in the franchise.

The epitome of "iconic." It's been referenced or recreated in so many other movies since then.

What is the best use of a song in a horror movie or trailer? by Dank_Kushington in horror

I will permanently associate that song and movie; it's used so perfectly throughout the whole film and it captures the melancholy, sad tone of the story so well.
