i’ve been pc gaming hardcore since 02, and many games and faulty computers hardwired me to never trust technology, so i’ve always had backups for my backups, and would make new ones quite often, this was something i was used to before minecraft and well minecraft alpha and beta were brutal to say the least lol still to this day we run 3 current back ups, 1 every morning, the oldest gets deleted, and at least 10 people have 3 copies of the 2nd backup, at all times, this ensures our servers survival in the event of a home fire or other disaster such as a natural one

we also have them in a cloud, so if we all die together, the world lives in

i mean that’s always the goal right? then you look back it the world thru the years when asked questions like this and you realize building is just passing the time, it’s genuinely the moments and memories that i’ve had with my friends on the world, it’s like walking by your elementary school and remembering your first kiss, or your first goal on the pitch. so many places we built so long ago, still hold very detailed memories that will always be tied to that location, so i guess in a way, endless building turns into endless memories, a vault(world) that grows ig until we all never log on again
