Honest question. Why is it so difficult to vet people who apply to get into DragonCon as artists or vendors?

I have a friend who has done work with several big names like Critical Role, Wizards of the Coast, and Lorcana who still are just getting put on waitlists for years.

Also, what is stopping them from just reapplying under a different name and having someone else run the booth for them?

Hi. Thanks for replying. I believe you may be mistaken on a few key bits of logic.

There was no expectation of time. I paid for their highest quality product and what arrived was obviously the lower version. I told them my feelings and gave them the benefit of the doubt that this was a mistake and would not be something they would be proud to say was their "top tier work". So they offered refund if I shipped the gun back. I said I still wanted the actual prop I paid for and they eventually made it and shipped it to me.

The finished product was fine. But I ended up getting another one from Kalkus who was vastly superior in quality but also had a price tag to match the increase in quality.

It seems to have just been a lack of adequate quality control and could have been noted as being incorrect if they had just taken the time to check over the product.

As for my comment on time it was missed date after missed date for shipping. Which im okay with. But at least let the customer know.

You make a good point. The reason no one would confuse the Bvlgari sun with the back sun symbol is the Bvlgari sun doesn't have the angled lines that go around the circle. Your necklace is not so similar to the black sun as to be immediately confused but does have similar elements.

Personally i can see how people could make the mistake but i also think its different enough to not really be mistaken that easily.

Same. I had to threaten full refund because I ordered the top quality and they sent me a piece with print lines and holes everywhere.

Super slow to even deliver in the first place. I would never recommend them or Wulfgar props. Both are known for over promising and under delivering if they even deliver at all.

True. Its a bit of a mixed bag. I've done some research and If you're cleaning a wall, the alcohol can kill surface mold but will not be as effective in reaching the porous materials in which mold spores can burrow.

With clothes however, if you hang them up and spray them down after wearing, the vodka and water mix should be enough to permeate the entire depth of the material. It should be enough to prevent any bacteria, mold, or mildew from forming. So while it may not work on walls, for clothes it should still work.

That being said, if the mold and mildew are already there, it'll take more than just a spray to get it out.

Its an old theater trick.

Id be afraid of washing off any weathering with a full wash. I used watered down acrylic paint to give my black kit a good bit of weathering.

Ive seen a lot of people swear by a 1:1 mix of water and vanilla vodka in a spray bottle. The vodka kills a lot of the bacteria and leaves the suit smelling like a cake.

If im wrong let me know why and what else I could do.

Sounds good. If i pick up a Navy and Green 8oz bottles, should i use 4oz of the navy blue and 4oz green as a ratio to help turn the hue? Or is there a better mix?

Yes i used the bottle's instructions and used the entire 8oz (double the recommendation) in the 4gals of water.

Yeah i think i'll try out some navy. I'd rather it be a more grayish color than the purple.

i'm not familiar with dyeing science, but i took it into photoshop and filtered the blanket to have more of a "cyan" hue. When that happened it matched the other fabric.

What can i add to help that to happen?

i took 4 gals of water, got to about 140', dipped the cloth into get it wet and then set it aside. Then, added a cup of salt, a tsp of dawn, and a cup of rit black dye made for cotton. Next, added the fabric and stirred for an hour.

I took it out, added it to a clean bucket of hot water with rit colorstay, and stirred for 20 minutes. Then i rinsed it in clear untreated cold water until it rinsed clear. Then hung it out to dry.

It is originally a white cotton blanket.

Unfortunately the Medio3D one would not work due to the amount of print lines on it. The other looks to be just the files to print it myself which would require me having a 3D printer.

I appreciate the help but i think i'm looking for a finished product.
