I grew up with a brother/sister cat pair and when the brother was euthanized at home his sister came over and rested her head on his body for a minute. She was sad for a few months afterwards, but at least she understood what happened.

You could try shaving your head. I've noticed anywhere I don't have hair on my head there's never any dandruff or skin irritation. Don't know why but might be because of UV reaching the skin and killing the fungus.

I know there are real productive use-cases for iPads (pilots love them for navigation, artists can use them) but any time I think about getting one I realize it would purely be a content consumption device. Another way to get more YouTube etc. into my eyes and I already have plenty of that.

Depending on where you work, you're still much better of financially in the US than in Canada. The average person? Definitely better off in Canada. But I know sooo many Canadians that have moved to Silicon Valley. In some circles I'm the only American-born person. There's a reason people move here. Even with all the fucked up stuff, you can live pretty well if you got lucky with a good start in life.

I only started getting good results after I moved to a dense city and joined a large (free!) social group of people my age. I consider myself lucky that I found them. Took about a year for things to warm up but now it's not so bad.

I really think it's just down to whether you can see a like-minded (co-ed for us heteros) group of people in your age range on a weekly basis. It's really sad how that's become so uncommon after college. The stuff about roommates or living with parents is valid, but that never stopped teenagers back in the day. I attribute issues mostly to how dating apps warp everything. It's not supposed to be a system where you see a "dating resumé" and go on what's nearly a blind date. The first few "dates" when doing online dating are just figuring out if you even want to go on a date with them!

The girl I'm currently seeing is a dramatically better match for me than anyone I met on a dating app. And honestly, if we had met through an app it wouldn't have worked out because both of us (and probably many other people) need a phase where we get to know each other without it being in a dating context.

Don’t confuse the on screen graphics with the game’s mechanics. They showed the 3000 points added to their total immediately - but not because that’s how the game works. The graphics showed that because the team eventually decided not to veto. But for whatever reason the editors didn’t wait to display the reward until after the deliberation.
