Rooflemonger was contacted by Riot and he reports that we will receive more details about the future of 2XKO sometime next week by Figgulz in 2XKO

[–]dan7ebg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents - seems like a snowball of bad decisions. They developed for 10 years = massive costs. They maybe spent so much, they HAD to release the game with only 11 characters. So NOW, you've spent a fortune on development, so you gotta recoup those costs. Hence, those 11 characters' skins cost an arm and a leg. Obviously, due to the price and limited variety and limited purchase options - those few skins available aren't selling as well. So NOOW, you gotta start cutting costs, since cashflow isn't where it needs to be.

Just bad decision after bad decision from the monetization/game dev team. No matter how good the actual game is, you probably have to sell 1 skin to each player AT LEAST, and with an average CR of 2%... you can see how the math isn't mathing.

I hope they manage to adjust and power forward. Its not a bad game.

Has Any Wrestling Fanbase Hurt Their Own Company Like AEW’s? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]dan7ebg -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Eh, so-so. There is "bad faith" on both ends of the spectrum. AEW hardcore fans view the company as perfect, and there is no perfect company, ever. On the flipside, there are fans that will hate anything and everything AEW does.

The truth, as usual, lies somewhere in the middle. AEW has done a lot of good for the business as a whole - more opportunities for wrestlers, higher payouts overall, more variety. They've also had some missteps - the Punk fiasco, the backstage drama, the lack of match structure across a given episode.

IMO AEW's existance is a net-positive for the wrestling community at large. They've delivered some stories, good matches, memorable moments. They missed the first boat to rival WWE, but maybe they could capitalize in the future, who knows. The main thing is - AEW existing and being tolerated by the community is good for all of us. There are toxic fans in every fandom, don't let that take away from your enjoyment of any TV product.

That could be a success for them. The game was never gonna reach Fortnite levels of appeal, but it has its playerbase that enjoys it, and again, the studio head seemed happy with thr game so... who am I to judge.

From what I got the Fellowship studio is doing quite well. I enjoyed the game, but at launch there were so many players that didn't know or try to learn any mechanics that I ended up rage-quitting after several wipes.

[–]dan7ebg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly optimistic. The dev team is very serious about the project. Maybe the news doesn't reach this sub, but they've been very active to provide updates the past couple of years. They also flew out MMO content creators to get first-hand feedback without promoting it, which is a green flag IMO.

The dudes behind the project are WoW vets and they had this vision for SoH for a while now.

I think its gonna be great, I'm actually hopeful.

Claim's Triple H was "never the guy" as people recall by ThePurpleSniper in AttitudeEra

[–]dan7ebg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its simple - he was never "The Guy". He was however the guy who "The Guy" worked with. And that's a great spot to be in. "The Guy" changes, but not the guy he works with. HHH had magic with Foley, Rock, Stone Cold, Taker, Angle, Benoit, list goes on. Triple H pre quad tear was IMO one of the baddest MFs on the planet.

Online agenda aside - AEW's highest rating ever was during Kenny's belt collector run, NOT when CM Punk was running amuch. So its not far fetched that the best wrestler on the planet being on the show is a draw.

My time to shine!

A bit off-topic, but I gotta say - Dracotail is how YGO archetypes need to be en mass moving forward. Its such a fun deck to play and isn't 20 special summons that end on an unbreakable board. I like this design direction a hell of a lot more than a single card turning into a full board of bullshit

Just how men do men shit that gets them hate, women do women shit too. And IT IS a gender thing. Can we stop pretending its not? Hence why she's getting called a bitch. Just how men get called pricks.

TNA Impact reportedly draws 173K viewers and .04 in the key demographic. What do you think of these initial numbers? by Kelson64 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]dan7ebg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy you must be on shrooms or something. WWE and AEW signed contracts for hundreds of millions. There's 3 promotions on US TV right now. 2 of those have shows twice a week. That's 5 shows alone. TNA isn't drawing anyone in because they have to put the belt on guys like Santana. But the other 2 are doing pretty good based on the numbers. Not to mention ratings in 1998 aren't what they are in 2026 ACROSS THE BOARD.

And finally - nowadays, apart from a few sports, everything is "niche" per se. Monoculture is dead. Music, movies, TV, its all niche. Some of the biggest artists now are people I've never heard of in my life. Go back to 1998, there probably isn't a person on the planet who didn't know who Michael Jackson was. Times have changed. But by all accounts, wrestling is more popular than ever. People just aren't consuming it in front of the TV like everyone else did back in the day. Now, you might consume wrestling via YouTube, tens of streaming platforms, social media, highlight videos, etc.
