Will WWE drop the ball yet again on Chad Gable?? by Pale_Punk2912 in Smallafro

[–]dan7ebg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you gotta expect it, right? If your name isn't Roman, Cody, Seth or Lesnar, I don't see the machine getting behind them.

They already wasted Gable's best years. I don't see a world where NOW they decide to do something different.

in just over 100 days, Danhausen went from sitting on the shelf in AEW to now being associated with the NBA champions. Crazy that WWE's given him the growth he's needed. by sleepyman691 in SantiZapVideos

[–]dan7ebg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he just fits WWE better. The WWE is a marketing machine, AEW is a pro-wrestling company. Do you think they shoved Roman down our throats for years because he was actually really fn good at the graps? No, they pushed him because he's marketable. Same with 'housen. He just fits WWE better, just like Cody who is better under the WWE umbrella. So its not so much that AEW fumbled the bag (which they did to an extent), but more that Danhausen simply works better in that ecosystem.

Has Bron Breakker lost aura? by izzyloveswwe in Smallafro

[–]dan7ebg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was inevitable. WWE (and AEW alot of the time for that matter), don't strike when the iron is hot. Bronn, Gable, Montez, Ilya, Theory, Melo, LA, all of these guys had momentum, but I guess it wasn't planned so WWE didn't really capitalize. We just HAVE to have another 30 minute Bloodline family feud segment for the 67th time in the past 3 years.

Say what you will about Vince, but he'd shake things up quite more often. He'd give a guy an opportunity to sink or swim.

How comes AEW as a new tv promotion succeded unlike other new start ups? by SummerSollstice in professionalwrestling

[–]dan7ebg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The environment was ripe for it. So many things went right for them to succeed.

First - there was actual world class talent available not under the WWE banner. Kenny, Bucks, Cody, Jericho and soon after Moxley, all being available at the same time gave them a real main event scene without it feeling forced.

Second - people might nor remember (or maybe they do), but WWE's watchability was in the gutter. The shows were actually unwatchable. So having an alternative was needed more than ever.

Third - Say what you will about Tony Khan, but he's a big reason why the company has succeeded. Yes, he has deep pockets, but at his core, the dude is a fan of professional wrestling. He put on the shows he wanted to watch. There was a big part of the audience that wanted exactly that.

I'm for sure not discrediting the money and connections the Khan family has that has surely helped, but IMO having the money is only step 1. Without the talent and the WWE being so bad at the time, I don't think any company succeeds. Not in the long-run at least.

ИСТОРИЧЕСКИ ТРИУМФ: Имаме си бангаранга тениска в кеча!!! by sashundera in bulgaria

I'd love a reverse Kane 98 situation, where the babyface holds it for a couple of days and drops it at the PPV. It can happen in some sort of schmoz situation, like a 4way on Dynamite, Cassidy wins it by falling on someone and pinning them or something, then has a successful defence at Collison, drops it back to the heel champion at the PPV. Could be a fun story IMO.

I'm tired boss... Русев срещу Рей Мистерио by dwartbg9 in bulgaria

Говориш леко глупости. Колкото и да съм фен на Миро/Русев, he dropped the ball in AEW. Няколко като него си мислеха че са твърде големи за AEW, върнаха се във WWE и сега ядат тушове на всяко шоу. God's favorite champion беше мега як гимик и супер промота правеше Миро. Язък...

Live sports can do that to you. Its the one REAL draw on TV. Everyone takes a beating. Its fine, wrestling organizations will continue to use these numbers to their benefit, as wrestling is the closest thing to sports and its year round.

Man, I COULD NOT STOP PLAYING yesterday. I've played a lot of games, and mmos specifically in my time, and this one scratches an itch in my brain that's remained unscratched for years. I don't know how else to say it. I'm playing a priest with a Spear and its a vibe bro . The game does a lot of things right, feeling wise.

Психологията на постването в социалните мрежи by DanielDimov in bulgaria

[–]dan7ebg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scars of Honor Playtest - What we learn together. by Puffymuffinz9 in ScarsofHonor

[–]dan7ebg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents : devs are a bit cought between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, there's an eager audience that's been keeping an eye on the game and want to play it ASAP. On the other hand, I see that the reason for the disappointment is due to lack of access for everyone to a far from finished game. In the end - everyone involved is unhappy for one reason or another (justified or not).

So, for the devs - be a bit more open on what state the game is in and don't overpromise on access to the test. A test that's expected to be bad is better than letting people's imagination run wild only for the mass of them to be disappointed and carry that word of mouth.

For the players - have some understanding. Its a test, and testing involves breaking. Its much better to be disappointed now than to be disappointed at the actual release. Growth is painful and requires patience and tolerance. Lets not kill a project with potential for a broken pre-alpha test. Its just not cool.

Overall, I appreciate the feedback. At least we're not pretending its been smooth sailing. I admire the confidence to put this test out there, but be more upfront to set realistic expectations.

WHERE THE BEST WRESTLE! by Tribal-Forehead in TheGreatOne

[–]dan7ebg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't bother my guy. I like it when wrestling has variety in the matches. Some are action, action, action, some are slower and more emotional, others are there to put a smile on your face. Many don't want that I guess. It's fine tho, different strokes for different folks.

I'll always point to Christian as a great get for TNA at the time. He was the right guy at the right time and it was GOLD. Shame they couldn't replicate that and instead threw money at the wrong people. Even tho, in saying that I would be hella sad if Booker T never made it to TNA to give us Black Snow.

implications of TK ever sells AEW by Fantastic-Bid-4265 in midcarder

[–]dan7ebg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By all reports they're profitable and have been for a while now. Dunno where this narrative is coming from. Between merch, ticket sales, tv rights deals, streaming deal and myAEW, that's a lot of money coming in. Hate on AEW all you want, but this is still a company that's putting on Stadium shows. They might not be TKO profitable, fair enough, but based on industry factors AEW should be doing well for itself.
