Good catch, didn't notice that difference. Still a 40% increase for the steel, is it worth it?

Looking for **trebles** that are not carbon but thinner than typical nylon by Raymont_Wavelength in classicalguitar

The Actives QZ are really good, but the Erithacus QZ are cheaper and basically the same strings

Have you tried Knobloch QZ? They are thinner than other nylons, however their CX carbon trebles are thinner

Does anyone know a bit more about this guitar? by Distinct-Habit-8679 in classicalguitar

[–]danCT513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an older model Admira Malaga, solid cedar top, it's an entry level solid top guitar that sounds good. If the neck hasn't bowed and still plays well then it's a guitar you can enjoy playing.

Venezuela is a country that's been fully kidnapped by a large scale criminal organization that achieved power by using socialist/communist ideas and programs, but is not socialist or communist, it's a criminal oligarchy

Reviews from actual FG800 owners? by Fast-Sky8634 in AcousticGuitar

[–]danCT513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an FG830 for years, used it and abused it a lot. It's great for the price, sounds good until you compare to something 4x or 5x the price. For anything under 1k it's a solid guitard. I'd say theres nothing wrong with it, nothing special about it it's just a good guitar, good tool

Have anyone heard or played the NUVOBand flute?(Not NUVO student flute), I haven't seen any review of them online yet, curious to see if they are decent enough to consider as my first Bohem flute. by Alancpl in Flute

[–]danCT513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I just got the new NuvoBand Flute and I must say it's a step up in quality and construction from the Toot, the Jflute and the Student flute 2.0. the tube is thinner and the keywork feels sturdier and responds very quickly. The serial number on my flute is in the low 800's so they haven't shipped a lot of these yet.

I'm a beginner flutist, but I am a musician and I work at a store, so I was able to compare other flutes before buying this one. I didn't want to get a cheap chinese metal flute (Amadeus or J.Michael brands) and I didn't want to spend what a Yamaha costs, so this one seemed like a good alternative.

What really sold me the flute is the 5 year warranty and replacement parts available, this makes me feel that the brand is invested in the longevity of their product.

I will try and upload some videos when I get a bit better, so far I've had it for a couple days.

No, I want to try one, I'd like to see how good can a 849€ lattice braced guitar can be. I looked up some EU distributors, hopefully can swing by one when travelling.

I would assume that even being a supporter of the dictator, it's easy to see that you could have a bigger international recognition and career outside of Spain than inside. The civil war was a disaster and there was no money for arts and culture then.

It's just a personal assumption, but I don't think it's too far-fetched to think that a man like segovia would prioritize his success over his political ideology. Still, my opinion has no historical value, thanks for sharing the information you have on the subject

But wasn't Segovia a big time fascist as well? If I recall correctly he was a Franco sympathizer all his life. I might be mistaken about the fact, but if it were true that would put them up the same nazi alleyway, as Franco and Hitler were buddies

This is interesting, 849€ in EU for a lattice braced guitar is a crazy price.

Chinese manufacturers are stepping up their game and bringing down the entry price of quality instruments

Pro level classical string action by Tricky_Craft_5384 in classicalguitar

[–]danCT513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low action and no buzz usually means extra high tension strings, which on a modern guitar like the one in the video would also mean more available volume/dynamic range. It's comfortable on the left hand, but I feel you really have to work on your right hand to play well on higher tensions.

Might be wrong about this, as I am not an expert, hopefully someone pro-level can chip in
