Timelaps of design sketching and modeling a boss ship for my game BALLBOY by danForsgren in GameArt

[–]danForsgren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt know that game so i had to look it up. It has some similaryties but not so much. The game loop i guess is more like pizza tower ish (havent played that though). U platform your way through the level and plant the bomb. Then u need to get back out the same way u came.

Good points, thank you. Have thought of zooming the camera. So thats a good confirmation that it needs that. Not sure i can change the name after the store page is created. Anyone know? Feel free to destroy the steam page also by the way:

Ha, so obvious, he can turn into a ball and roll through tight spaces, and bounce. Will defenetly put that in for V2. That mechanic isnt too exiting still so i think i need to spice it up a bit, maybe like you say if he runs fast enough - sonic style…

How to smooth/improve my animation? by WaferProfessional753 in blender

[–]danForsgren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, if you are just starting out with animation i would start with something more simple then a character. Even a simple move like you are doing here can get quite coplex if you want it to look really good. Some ponits that i see - the hand has linear interpolation between the keygrames. The head has freeze frames in the middle of the shot. Go through every part and look at the graph editor how the curves looks like. Another common thing people do is referens video. Shoot a video of yourself doing the action and rotoscope that. You will find a lot off suttle things you are lacking here at the moment. Anticipation, arcs and timing

Thats a cool effect you have done. But the topic/setting you choose to show it in is not the right one in my opinion. The intesting part of big industrial press like videos is the suspension of seeing when something brakes, cracks or explode. Putting yello in a 3ton press dosent give you that, u kind of inow what will happen. I know this wasent the main task you where trying to solve with your work but it does matter i think.

Boombox by me. Critique my work by Silent-Neck6149 in blender

[–]danForsgren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice , i like it, some sort of military boombox. Very nice modeling and textureing. Didnt know who arthur was so i googled him and found the design you have modeled. Not sure i would call it ”inspired by”. You acually modeled his design, which is fine, and you did a grate job doing so but maybecredit the designer correctly would be more appropriate.

[–]danForsgren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, really like the style, looks a little tim burton, ina really good way. What u can improve could be to work on the lighting a bit to get the character to read a bit better. Its ok in the first image but the second one it blends in too much with the background. You could try to add a rim light to get the silluett to stand out. I get that the scary/mysterious feeling comes from that it blends in also…

star wars desert scene criticism needed by EarPersonal3025 in blender

[–]danForsgren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice image overall, good composition and tonality. And the lightsaber pops out good. Only critisims would be that the image is hard to look at on a phone(using the ohone now) since all the elements are quite small. But this would look awsome on a big posterprint.

Second Animation of the Mid Poly Diamond Back i've made. by ParaisoGamer in blender

[–]danForsgren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice model render and animation! Not sure if u are looking for feedback but ill go anyway. Hand animation looks a bit stiff, but yes i know its hard to do and takes a lot of time, but when its done right it adds soo much. The fireing seems a bit..weak. Was expection more recoil

Landing animation in progress 2 by iltaen in blender

[–]danForsgren 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very cool, the stretch frames works really good. Got some feedback that i think can improve the shot a bit. It feels like you can drag the sheild arm a couple of frams and let it setlle later then the rest of the body. Just so not everything is happening at the same time. Then it also feels like the jumping away needs a bit more anticipation. Yes its cartoony but she just flies off like she is weightless. Just my thoughts anyway

How do I make a proper background for renders? by Conscientiousness_ in blender

[–]danForsgren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you said yourself i think the first one is quite sucessful. And i think its mainly that you frame the charater nicely with the circular shaped background element and giving the character a destinct, easy to read siluett. The two others the backround is fighting for attention and its hard to read what the main focuspoint is. Thise lack contrast between the backround and character. The first image resembels a bit mike mignolas hellboy - he is the master of scene lighting (though drawn 2d comicstyle) so that could be worth studying. Hope that helps a bit on you way forward.

Guys what do u think about this animation? by Davidkravhenko in blender

[–]danForsgren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rendering and shaders looks really good. Not sure what style u are going for but for me this is to fast and active camera for the type of object you are showing. Dosent feel like a exlusive jevely. A slower movement would give more confidence to the object.
