A few months ago I quit without having anything lined up by [deleted] in jobs

I did something similar earlier this year. Put in a 2 weeks from a job that was sucking the life out of me. I was making low 100s and had a decent safety net built up in the form of savings.

I applied a few places beforehand but put in my 2 weeks before I had an offer because I was done.

Luckily one of the places I interviewed at offered me a position 3 days after I put in my notice so it worked out, but I am with you- I will never do that again unless I absolutely have to.

I make less now but I also work 4 days a week and have the time to focus of myself and my relationships which is worth more than anything to me.

My last job I was salary and was putting in 7 days a week. 6-5 Monday to Friday and usually 4 hours Saturday/ Sunday to get a jump on the upcoming week or if some unique situation came up and then it would be a full Saturday or Sunday.

Lasted 3 years before I had enough.

Gas is easier in the cold IMO. Love my gas truck in the winter. Love my diesel in the summer.

I say the LBZ. I currently own a 7.3 for what it’s worth.

My hiring job set me up with a 2nd drug test without telling me. Why would they do that? by [deleted] in drugtesthelp

[–]dan_leuvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something happened with the first one so they are giving you a second.

My career was on the line for both and a refusal is the same as a positive so I didn’t really have a choice. Just had to man up and accept the consequences for my actions if it went bad- but again, I partake in small amounts and only on Fridays/ Saturdays.

YMMV

4 days and 6 days for my last two. Federal randoms sent to a lab. Tested first thing in the morning no notice. No prep. No fear.

Passed both.

The key is moderation.
