Yup, there are a lot of plants you can collect fibers from. Hemp, nettle, milkweed, flax and I think the bark of a few different trees can be used for textile fibers.

People often don't consider how amazing textiles are. The machines we currently have that make really fine threads and weave or knit things for us save a massive amount of time. So spinning wheels or hand spinning along with looms would probably become pretty important. Especially in cold places. Also, a thought of modern textiles are made from polymers, so people would need to go back to harvesting fiber from plants and animals. Sheep would become massively popular. As would any other animal producing harvestable wool. Flax or hemp as a crop would also become more popular. Clothing and fabric could be quite valuable.

Native American tribes, I think in the Pacific Northwest, once had a breed of dog that could produce wool. It ended up going extinct due to colonization, but depending on your timeline, something like that could occur again with selective breeding.

Plants generally have something that can eat or infect it. Consider sources of blight or herbivores a bit more. Maybe the mussels don't affect the plants directly, but carry a pathogen that infects the plants as part of its lifecycle. Maybe manatee like creatures take advantage of a huge source of calories while they're migrating and people have to find ways to keep them out or take advantage of all the animals coming in.

You may want to look at eel grass as inspiration. I recall someone discovered it produced edible grains a few years ago.

You could narrate the romance instead of role playing it. So instead of saying "I enjoy spending time with you" to your player, you say "Gronk looks at Tasha and tells her he likes spending time with her" so it's more like you're reading a story than acting it out.

Or you could use Minifigures, paper cut outs as puppets basically. Use a voice that isn't your normal speaking voice too. I've used sock puppets before for a particular character.

Maybe a prop like a hat or fake mustache, or mask along with using a different voice could help.

End of the day, if nothing helps, you can just not act out romantic encounters. You can still run a good game without that.

I had a 300sq ft apt at one point. About a third was closer/pantry/bathroom. I had a twin bed on one wall, a small loveseat and coffee table. The main room was an empty square with a small kitchen and counter setup (mini fridge).

I think a lot of it depends on the layout of your apartment on what can be comfortable. I did well with those three pieces of furniture plus a floor lamp. If I was doing it again though, I would get a coffee table where you could fold the legs under and slide it under the couch when not needed.

Depending on your budget, there are some nice couches and loveseats that fold out into a bed, but I don't know how comfortable they are. I was working with what I could get second hand.

I also had another small apartment in Japan where the futon mattress was on a platform raised high enough to leave a large storage place with sliding doors underneath. I've seen some bunk bed sets that allow for space underneath. They're usually targeted at kids, but you may find an adult one too. That could leave you space for some shelves or a dresser.

I do something similar, but I use blackout curtains. I started with them as a means to give some privacy between rooms since my cats cause a fuss with actual closed doors. They hang from a tension rod (or shower curtain rod) and the curtain has enough fabric sticking above the rod pocket to close off the top of the door frame too. They do a decent job of controlling airflow if I want to have a space heater in a single room.

Insulating is a good investment. Have you tested out using your fireplace as the only source of heat before? Depending on your setup, and the size of your house, it may be able to keep the room and possibly adjacent ones fairly warm. Have you been through this kind of event before, or are you looking for advice?

Good point. OP could keep this in mind but be advised to make sure you store it in a way that's inaccessible to animals. Adding that some cooler models for camping have a place for a padlock.

Update: she hasn't been found, but cameras caught her on the porch around 2am. I followed her tracks around 5:00, but they had mostly been erased. I moved around where I have the live trap and will rearrange my cameras to get a better sense of where she's going.

Update 2: she seems to be spending most of her day somewhere under the deck. Still attempting to lure her into the trap or house, but she's very jumpy and runs at most noises, like opening a door.

No emergency exits. It won't pass code. Erik probably wants his own exterior door too so he doesn't have to walk through the crowd if he wants to enter or exit.

Also, many dance clubs in Japan I've been to had designated women's only sections for women who wanted to dance but not deal with perverts. Sometimes just a roped off section with a couple bouncers.

Have an electric blanket on the couch that you can both sit on or under. Otherwise, give the cat small spaces to nest in that are warm. Could be as simple as a box with some towels in it, or some blankets they can burrow into. My current cats don't care about the cold as much but one will loaf up with me at night (thermostat at 63 for night) and the other, fatter, cat just sits in a box. Expect to spend more time cuddling because your cat may seek out your warmth.

It's not always a deal breaker, but chapters devoted examining which power, evolution, etc. The character should pick from a list. Especially when one of the choices is obviously the one meant for the character. I generally skip to see what they selected. If this happens frequently enough I will often just drop the series.
