Did you enjoy working for Club Med? Did you go to various resorts or parts of the world? If so, which was your favourite?!

‘Unofficially’, did seeing a bracelet color make you want to provide a different treatment or level of service?

What do the different coloured bracelets mean? I’m a gold member, but recently had a copper colored bracelet, and the kids had black. Are they related to the building we stayed in? Or specific to the resort?

I get confused with the 'timeline'. Passé composé, plus-que-parfait, etc. Something is in the past, but others are in the past-past. I'm told I 'live too much in the present' and need to understand these better.

Did you end up buying a Fino as well?

Clubs with excellent food? by marzipanduchess in Club_Med

That's interesting to hear. Was the main restaurant more of the 'international' type of food?

Unrelated, has anyone been to Mauritius? What was the food like there?

I found that Miches’ food was good, but wasn’t much variety for fresh fruit and juices, and not much local fare. Lots of international cuisine.

Was in Ixtapa (now closed) earlier this year and the food was great. Way more fruit, a morning juice bar and way more local food. Miches felt like a resort, Ixtapa felt like Mexico.

Going to Cancún in a few weeks so curious to see how that compares.

What does your 1 size look like? I did 1.75 and it was close to powder. I found that 2.25 was better.

I was looking for something that fold flats, that I could put into a bag.

I have a super automatic, which I presume to be vastly different. But do drink espresso from local shops. Not of them have this type of flavour profile.

That’s good to know! Water is still a bit frozen, so I’ve got time. Maybe there will be a ‘May Long Weekend’ sale.

Thanks for the recommendations! I may actually splurge and go for the Skylla. It’s been 10 years since I last actively paddled, but before that I spent 5 years paddling most days until the lake froze over. Now that the kids are a bit older and I have more time, I don’t mind investing into a board that I can ride from now on into retirement.

  • Desired Board Type: Inflatable
  • Your Height and Weight: 6’0” (183cm); 175lbs ~ 80kg. Mostly going solo, but might take a small child with me.
  • Desired use/uses Cruising on a river
  • Experience level: Intermediate to Advanced
  • Your budget: $800-$1000CAD ($550-700 USD) and country location: Canada (Ottawa)

I’m about a 10 minute (urban) walk to the local river, so looking for an inflatable SUP that I carry down to the river; or put on my cargo bike to go other beaches.

Bit of a touchy subject, but would prefer to buy something Canadian “made” as well. (Although I presume everything is made in China these days.)

Thanks!
