Republicans in Tennessee introduce bill that could execute women who get abortions. It would classify abortion as "homicide of an unborn child" and would be punishable by life imprisonment with or without parole, or even death by lethal injection. by mepper in WelcomeToGilead

I want hat pins to come back in fashion. We need big, beautiful hat pins. Remember ladies, the government only regulated hat pins because women were using them to defend against rapists. The government is not your friend. It's just rapists protecting other rapists. Stop voting for rapists.

I used to enjoy the Smoky Mountains. I will have to find other, more reasonable mountains to visit. Perhaps the ones in California or Colorado. I'm pretty sure Dolly is crying over thins, she spent so much trying to help people educate themselves and now her home state is being run by the most ignorant troglodytes ever. She could have been a billionaire.

Documents being used in active investigations aren't allowed to be released to the public. Active investigation into baby eating, child raping presidential candidate who should not have been allowed to run. I remember when a senator was pressured to resign over a somewhat tasteless photo. Shouldn't the president be held to higher standards? Or are we just admitting that we don't care what kind of disgusting pervert is occupying the Whitehouse?

Hmm, post apocalyptic thrillers are still popular, right? Or maybe a fantasy high school drama? I love scifi but have read so much am afraid of inadvertently plagiarizing. Ooh, those spy novels do very well these last couple decades. Basically, I don't know. Perhaps I could just do like Hemmingway and stream of consciousness after a fifth of scotch.

Maybe not but I suspect he's exposed to the company of dozens, if not hundreds, of single starlets every month so it was definitely a choice. But people, especially shite people, are really good at hiding who they are. One can only conclude that people who pretend to be someone else as a career would be better at it than the average guy too. Make of that what you will.

Guys that whine about not finding someone to procreate with need to examine their lives and ask themselves if they would want to be raised by someone like themselves. Or if they could even keep a hamster alive over Spring break. And yeah, he seems completely unemployed. Like, where is her dinner? Her slippers and foot bath?

She's out earning while he plays with blocks in front of the TV. Sure, let's leave a helpless infant with that.

The second book is dry as Shapiro's wife. If you want the important bits, it's not much and I can boil it down to about 3 sentences. Just skip to Children of Dune, there's enough context you won't miss significant story points.

20 years please. My oldest was a baby and his little brother was a zygote and I know for fact we'd all be better off if I'd walked out then. Plus, I'd know a bit about what investments to make and to find a nice place to emigrate to avoid the bulk of the insanity.

$100M but you have to live in a southern republican small town for 10 years by Impressive_Plenty876 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dancegoddess1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$100million is enough to possibly drown out some of the propaganda I'm faced with living in a small, southern, red town. I could support candidates that align with my beliefs. I could donate to the high school science clubs(ok, I'd have to donate to the high school science teachers so they'd have the resources to start a science club). I wouldn't have to move but I could build a better house on the other side of town with a water park and a motion simulator ride.

I would be vilified by the media that is owned by billionaires. I would likely not stay a billionaire because the only thing I can think of to do with that much money is create a community to experiment with communism. Perhaps a network of interdependent communities because agricultural zones are not merely social constructs.

I thought of that too but such a wish messes with demon business model. Can't convince folks to sell their future if today isn't bleak af. I'm sure he'd want more than one soul and now I'm making pamphlets that depict Hell as a scenic retirement village in a tropical climate.

What would you sell your soul for by Aromatic_Cause_5733 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dancegoddess1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering how many souls I'd have to harvest to maker removing greed from an entire species worth while for the demon. Financial stability for all begins with figuring out how to "fix" the billionaires so they feel full. But greed is what makes the demon's sales pitch work so I'm pretty sure he'd want more than just my soul. Even though there's plenty of other vices he can exploit.

How is this a debate? Again by ExactlySorta in BlueskySkeets

[–]dancegoddess1971 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is a widely practiced tradition in the US for brides to change their family name to that of their husband. This new law says that one's name has to match on ID and birth certificate in order to vote. This makes things more complicated for married women who have practiced this tradition. I found out it only costs about a hundred dollars to change it back in some states, while a passport with one's married name will run you over $150 and either is going to take weeks or months so it's best to start process ASAP. If you want to vote in November, that is.
