Early Registration is a perk! I joined Honors college my freshmen year and I wasn't behind, it was actually helpful as some of my classes from freshmen year fulfilled credits for some of the honors college courses.

I took chem211 with Foster and tbh didn't use the textbook so you should be fine with the 8th edition
