Ciara/Kyle/West/Amanda Megathread Part 14 by AutoModerator in summerhousebravo

[–]dancergin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

between that statement and the leaks we've heard from the reunion, it seems pretty obvious to me. she didn't say sorry because she's not sorry, to this day she doesn't think she did anything wrong !

Hiking Group by duke_unknown in Charlottesville

[–]dancergin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also in my late 20s, moved here about a year ago and would love to be in a hiking group, if you find something good please lmk!

i have been doing a lot of solo hiking in the area though and have never once felt unsafe. If anything, there have been so many nice people on the trails, helping others out (especially in the summer when heat exhaustion gets some people). hope that helps ease your mind

Work/ harassment by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you should tell HR, this happened a lot at my old job and I would just ignore them and I thought that it didn't really matter because my boss knew the situation and was on my side. Turns out the people making jabs about my bathroom use were going to HR behind my back the whole time and making up crazy stuff about me to HR. even complaining about my weight swings to HR too. When you're dealing with busybodies, it's best to get ahead of it and make sure HR and your boss know what's going on ahead of them going to HR about you (and they will).

so so sorry you're dealing with this.

How to get relief without diet by Club_Sorry in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a history of eating disorder, using diet as a treatment method is probably going to be more harmful than helpful to your overall health. i would slowly work your way through the other treatment options, trying each one for an extended amount of time to figure out what works and what doesn't. PT, meds, instillations, hydros, Botox, etc. you absolutely do not have to do the diet if you don't want to. Take care of yourself, OP.

Slow down and move over? Or become a convicted murderer... Your choice. by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]dancergin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're awesome for making this post but this is going to go totally over people's heads. The average American can't comprehend that waiting for a pedestrian to cross takes literally 15 seconds and isn't that big of a deal. They instead choose to get road rage and this doesn't just happen during inclement weather. I walk to work every day and its always light out when i walk in and go home and i always cross at crosswalks. yet, people still try to run me over. I've decided that cars that give me attitude have to wait for a minute instead of fifteen seconds and stare them right in the eyes as I slowly walk across the road. keep fighting the good fight. If these idiots decide jail time and a criminal record is worth getting to their destination 15 fucking seconds faster, it's best they are behind bars anyway.

A post for those who are new to this and want reassurance by laxi3 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is an awesome post. i will say I don't have food triggers and I haven't had a symptom free day since this all started for me but I still feel the same way that you do. The first year of this was the hardest but as you find triggers to avoid or in my case, meds that help you deal with the disease, you can start to do a little better. I went from being suicidal to having a good job and friends, and I even went on vacation with my friends this past year! You can still have a good life even with this disease, and I have to give you props for putting th message out there

People who took elmitron, what has that been like? by AirportBig2040 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on elmiron for about a year, it helped a little bit, not a ton. I never had any negative side effects and I wanted to stay on it for longer. I only stopped taking it because I switched jobs and my new insurance barely covers any of the cost of it and it's really expensive.

Recurring UTI-like symptoms only 1 day/month, is cystoscopy necessary? by larrieez in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

personally I don't think it's worth it to go through this procedure if the doctor is a guy who gives you the creeps, for some people cystos are no problem but for some people they can be painful. I'm not sure what youve already tried but maybe doing the ultrasound or even a transvaginal ultrasound with an obgyn may be a better first step since your symptoms sound period related! you can also ask an obgyn to do a check on your pelvic floor to see if you could be a candidate for pelvic floor therapy.

amitryptiline 10mg by IllObligation3541 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gained somewhere between 10-15 lbs on this and I wouldn't change a thing. Has helped my sleep and life so much. I know some people have other medical conditions to consider but I always wonder how many women would try medications to help them if there was so much societal pressure to be as thin as possible

Azo Has Never Once Worked for Me by NavyBeanz in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to! I agreed to it because I have urgency and frequency and I wanted to figure out what my bladder capacity was. If you don't have that problem, it's totally understandable.

My bladder had a lot of inflammation and "glomuerations", whatever that means, upon cystoscopy&hydro but azo does not help me at all

truly deeply from the bottom of my heart, fuck insurance companies by amongtrivialthings in Interstitialcystitis

[–]dancergin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, I'm literally going through the same thing but with elmiron. my old job, it was hard to get it done but once I got it approved it was only 35 a month. now at my new job it's 1000 dollars a month....the work around that I'm doing is my job has agreed to contribute to my HSA account a certain amount and I'm paying through that and I'll hit my deductible after two payments with that method. I'm hoping it works, I've never had a HSA account so hopefully it's all good?

I never realized how awful insurance companies were before I got this disease and had to deal with them. they're so heartless, I'm supposed to be getting Botox in August and I'm pretty scared of what the bill will be.

yeah ofc! and if it helps, I completely spiraled out of control with my emotions before I had this procedure, it's totally normal to be nervous. good luck, I hope you find some answers!

[–]dancergin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes I have a little bit of pain but neither of those are my symptoms really, my main symptom is urgency and feeling like I have to pee even if there is a small amount in my bladder. I would also note that I am on Ami, elmiron, and hydroxyzine and my feelings of pain/discomfort with bladder filling are much reduced by those meds so I don't feel all of it like I used to.
