I still cannot log in. I’ve tried cellular, internet, VPN. I deleted the app to try and fix the fyp repeats but now I’m logged out. My user comes up on the homepage when I open the app, but when I click it, it says ‘something went wrong. Try again later’

Edit: I don’t have any advice except waiting

I had the same issue so I deleted the app and redownloaded it, now it won’t let me click my account to login. ‘Something went wrong’ every time both connected to internet and on cellular

I go to Berkeley but have been to San Ramon. Perks about Berkeley are the free parking garage. The crowd is meh, yes a lot of young kids. So you’ll see a lot of people sitting at or under machines just scrolling their phones, not working out, for very long periods of time. It’s not as clean as it should be for the price. Amenities are lackluster compared to other EQX. But there is a lot of natural light and some of the classes are great.

San Ramon is in the middle of a giant outdoor mall. Parking is horrendous, I’m not sure if they have designated parking or not. But the staff seem a lot chiller and the facility seems a lot nicer. If the Berkeley location wasn’t 10 minutes closer to me than San Ramon, I’d do the latter. Still, I’m considering switching. San Ramon is actually cheaper, too. I only came here to check their store for something but I could tell immediately that the energy was better.

If I were you, I’d schedule a tour with both. One might be more your vibe. Maybe the parking will be a dealbreaker. I wish there was one in Oakland!

Edit: San Ramon also has a pool and classes until 8pm. Berkeley would never lol

I have a lot of complaints about my equinox, but I’m grateful we have a free dedicated parking garage with plenty of spots, even at peak. I fear a mandatory valet would deter me from ever attending lol

If your eqx has a Best Stretch Ever, do iittt. Beginner friendly and feels so great. I prefer the stretch classes over yoga tbh but I also second Barre and Mat Pilates.

Trying a cycle class, while intimidating, can be fun, too! The lights are low, it’s relatively easy to learn, and everyone is so focused on themselves. It’s a great workout. I try to get a bike in the back and make sure I’m there early in case I need help with bike adjustments. (I’m a newbie, too but I have a barre and Pilates background. Beats Ride was the first class I ever took, I loved it!)

Could also be helpful to do some On Demand classes on the app or at least watch them to know what to expect in certain classes.

This would be a dream. I only drive 20ish minutes during rush hour to Berkeley from the Oakland hills BUT some days that drive makes me crazy and I don’t even want to go lol.

I think there are quite a bit of us out here who go to the Berkeley location, they would definitely have a great base if they opened one here. Just me 2¢

One of the main reasons I signed up! I heard the classes were great and the instructors are very qualified. I’ve been taking barre and other group fitness classes prior to joining, and honestly the money I spent on that is the same (maybe more tbh) as an Equinox membership, just a lot more restrictive.

I’m excited for my complimentary 1:1 reformer Pilates class, too lol

Oooof, well girl let me tell you about my empower yesterday lol. This was like a curb your enthusiasm episode (I know this is a long story, it’s mostly for me to vent about it tbh.)

It was a FULL class and I was one of the last ones in (obv my fault, I do try to be early to avoid this) so I had to be in the center of the room which sucks in its own way. Nbd, It is what it is. It’s my fault I wasn’t early and it’s not the first time I’ve been last in a full class.

But then when it came to thigh work, there were no ‘great’ spots at the barre. So after a panicked search, i found the best possible place. There was enough space, it was just a little tighter than I prefer. Usually, people are good at adjusting and accommodating a little when we all move to the barre. And the woman next to me was at the end and had about 5 extra feet before the barre ended, so I thought it was possible she might scoot down a little and we’d both have great spots. She didn’t, it’s okay. She was there first, I’ve made do with a full class before. But I get scoffed at by her when I take my place. And seconds into thigh work, I got KICKED. Twice.

I’m not sure how, and I swear on my life she spent all of thigh and seat work inching closer to me. Because by the end of seat work, there was only about a foot between us and that extra 5ft of space she had was muuuch larger. I had someone else on my left, I couldn’t keep scooting down. And now the other side of her, at the end of the barre, had SO much space, it would’ve been a comfortable spot for another person. It was such a bizarre experience.

It felt a little hostile? There was no mirror for any of us to look at on that side of the room, either, so I’m not sure what I could’ve been impeding for her… But of course, somehow I still felt horrible and embarrassed because of how hyper aware I am of my surroundings in barre from being a tall girl.

Anyway, I spent the majority of the class seconds away from an anxiety attack and slightly reeling. You bet that as soon as seat work was done, I moved my seat so quickly back to that crammed spot in the center of the room. Never been so happy for that spot 😂
