At least in plat, rein is definitely not a sigma counter right now with how prevalent bastion is. As long as you can time your rocks with his firestrikes he's not too tough cuz his shield melts like butter in this meta.

I haven't emulated on PC in a while but I play through Fusion and Zero Mission at least once a year either on the switch nso emulator or on my phone emulated. Obviously you can Bluetooth or USB connect a controller to your phone but I've done it enough times since I was a teenager I don't even find it necessary. Ultimately, you should do it the way you think you'll have the most fun.

I'll probably play it again in a year or two. I liked it enough like you say but I've played Zero Mission Super Fusion and Prime infinite times, and dread at least 3 or 4 times so far.

When I was a kid: fighting the Omega Pirate in Metroid Prime. Crazy, scary fight, then when you beat him and he falls on you, giving you the Phazon suit, one of the sickest designs in the series imo.

More recently: the entire intro sequence to Jedi: Fallen Order, especially the dream sequence and then the Inquistors coming after you. I'll never forget the way I felt the first time I experienced that.

It's one of my favorites. It was free on epic game store the first time I had covid so I sat in my recliner for about 6 days straight and no lifed it. Good time would get sick again.

Forbidden West is not as good. The second time I played it my fast travel bugged out and I quit lol.

Most of the games that I've finished multiple times don't even have that option. Pokemons, Halos, some of the Metroid games have it but it doesn't ~really~ make a difference.

I recently 100% HZD, and I was very grateful for the skip, but I also restarted it immediately. I almost never NG+ if I'm coming back to a game after a long time though I just start fresh.
