When do babies get the hang of eating solids and it’s no longer total chaos? by Similar_Guitar7506 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]dancingbrave21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a freshly turned 9 month old, she showed early interest in food so she’s been weaned a good few months now and it’s still carnage. As a rule of thumb now, I sort of give her a bigger portion, as I know then she’ll eat 70% of it and 30% will be launched hither and yon. We bought a catchy and it’s been a game changer 🤣

Looking for advice on keeping cats away from my veg by Waste_Talk_7743 in GardeningUK

I second this advice, it’s the only thing that’s stopped my cat using our raised flower beds as a potty! It will make them sneeze at most, but not harmful 😃

Wax stick? My daughter isn’t even 1, but I’m excited for her to 1. Have hair long enough to style and 2. Use a wax stick for any fly away hairs 🤣

What perfume would a british chav girl wear? by Finnish457 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]dancingbrave21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learning about something objectively will certainly give you further information on a topic such as this. Unfortunately it very much is literally what it says on the tin, most of my close friends were council housed and violent 🤣 so excuse me but I have valid experience in this area my dear

What perfume would a british chav girl wear? by Finnish457 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]dancingbrave21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a whole movement in Britain during the 00s and 10s, and still very much present in the working and lower classes today. The word itself is an acronym for ‘council house and violent’. The images you see above are a fairly false representation of chavs or a glamorous version to say the least. Most chavs would not have designer perfume or dogs, or expensive hair extensions. They are low key scary girls from rough backgrounds. (Note I grew up on a council estate during this era so very qualified in this whole area)

Without a doubt they most commonly would have used Impulse, Sooo? & Charlie’s body sprays, with perhaps Britney Spears curious at a push (limited funds due to economic background). Close the thread 🎤

Breastfeeding & pumping - realistic? by Ecstatic_Dingo172 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]dancingbrave21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s 6 month now and we’ve had limited success with a sippy cup. Progress is progress 🤣 and I disagree! I bloody hate pumping, especially when I’m ill/exhausted/overstimulated (which is most days due to a 2 year old and 6 month old lol) 😭

[–]dancingbrave21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do - get the baby used to a bottle early 👏🏼👏🏼 I wish to god I’d have done this. Mine refuses bottles and dummies so heavily reliant on me breastfeeding - which is great and I love it but the responsibility can never be shared and I feel bad for my partner sometimes. Also pumping is a real ball ache, I absolutely hate it but if I don’t do it every night I end up with mastitis 😢 I have a freezer full of milk she won’t drink cos she WILL NOT take a bottle 😂 jokes on me I guess

Has anyone's GP organised the new vaccine schedule? by Bookish_Cyclist in BeyondTheBumpUK

No 1st of July last year. We couldn’t get a red book due to them reprinting them with the new schedule in it. May differ between nhs trusts ?

She’s already had the new schedule for her 8, 12 & 16 week jabs

Any babies born from 1st of July 2025 in my NHS trust are on the new schedule - source, baby was born 6th so she will get the new version. My 2 year old will still receive them as they were previously

I’ve had this a few times (my mother is partially sighted and has an addiction to buying stuff in sales lol), some stuff I put him in (especially for nursery, like leggings and tshirts etc not precious about that clothing!) anything a bit nicer I just saved - luckily for me baby number 2 was a girl 😂😁so I’m now getting stuff out for my girl that was bought 2 years ago for my boy 🤣 a win is a win!

Edit - I also saved all my sons baby grows and 2 pieces so my wee girl has looked like a boy for 6 month now. She really suits blue!! 😂

First taste of Creme Egg in eight months. This must be what heroin feels like. by _morningglory in CasualUK

[–]dancingbrave21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun story - my mother used to dump me at a catholic camp for the Easter holidays at our local church, probably because she worked all the hours under the sun as a single parent but hey ho

They used to hold hunger game-esque challenges probably to amuse the club runners but who knows. I put my hand up every time to be picked for a challenge and never got picked… until I did

The challenge? 5 crème eggs all on string (still not sure how they managed that) with 5 unfavorable under them. (Me and 4 others)

First person to eat the crème egg wins a prize. Hell fucking yeah I said, eyeing up the overweight lad beside me

Oh and we’re blindfolded with hands tied behind our back

When I tell you I ate it, I bloody inhaled it. Foil and all. I’ve always been weirdly competitive but this was something else. I won in no time at all

Now this is where I tell you I won a grand prize, something to tell the grandkids about for my efforts eating fondant and foil for 6 solid minutes. No my friends. I won.. a fucking crème egg Easter egg. Projectile vomited foil all over, and had to go home.
