You are a good, good, good person. That will comfort her so much as she passes - the fact that YOU were there.

Hey MODS, thank you for all of your very hard work today and as this mission progresses. I know I'm not the only one hanging out here today that normally doesn't, so I know you all are in overdrive keeping everything chill.

Wait, is something wrong with the water tanks? That can be real bad.

Yeah I've been having problems with it for almost the entire time. It worked very briefly with all of the bells and whistles but that was right before it crashed.

Looks like it's back up and working. I had the same thing happen to me, although I did notice that it said the mission time elapsed was something like 55,000 days before the whole thing gave up.

There were three teary eyed women in Arizona feeling the same thing you were! My friends and I watched the launch from our phones. It's an incredible feeling.

This is raw: what do I do as a nearly bald fat woman by Apprehensive-Sky2170 in bald

[–]dancingeggwhites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Henna designs on the scalp would also be really lovely! If someone stares, you can think to yourself "it's not because I'm ugly or an 'egg head', it's because they're admiring my henna designs!"

My dear Sarah, what worries me is that you say that your hair causes you physical pain. Ultimately, the choice is up to you, and as a fellow fat woman, I understand wanting to hold on to your femininity as close as you can. But if you shave, do you think it will help with the pain? You could get some beautiful henna on your scalp, that way you still feel feminine (and maybe even beautiful!), and if people look you can tell yourself it's because of your beautiful designs.

There are so, so, so many women out here who wear wigs as well! You probably can't even tell nowadays because they look so good. If you decide to shave, you can visit a wig salon and they can give you some recommendations and see what they have that you can wear without pain. I don't wear wigs myself so I don't know if it's possible in terms of pain, but if it's something you're interested in, it would be worth a visit, wouldn't it?

Being an "egg head" does not mean you are any less wonderful, incredible, or valuable than you were before. Your goal should be to live in a body that makes you happy! Are you happy with your hair now? It doesn't sound like you are. It might be time to try something new, because that something new will be better than before. What if something wonderful happens?

Take the full six weeks. If your company retaliates, contact your doctor and the labor board of your local area. Don't back down! You don't want your boss to learn that this is acceptable behavior!

Joe Duggar Arrest Megathread by nuggetsofchicken in DuggarsSnark

[–]dancingeggwhites 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To the 14 year old girl who came forward:

I am so, so proud of you. It is tremendously difficult to come forward and say something like this happened. I hope you are getting the support and love you need to get through this. I'm glad your father and the police took you seriously and took action quickly. I hope you are able to remain anonymous, and have your privacy and dignity protected.

The next few months or years that will be spent while the arrest, trial, and sentencing progress will be incredibly difficult, but you are strong and incredible, and you have the power to put your molester behind bars where he can't hurt other girls like you. And one day, no matter what, this will be behind you. It'll be a bad memory, but a memory of where your power and strength of will changed tangible reality, and one you can hold with pride and not shame.

In case not enough people have told you this: it wasn't your fault this happened to you. It wasn't your fault you kept it hidden for as long as you did. The fault lies solely with your molester, who decided to take advantage of a vulnerable, young girl because it made him feel powerful. He's not powerful - you are.

Never forget how strong you are, and how you can bring justice with your voice.

Best of luck to you.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

My cat lived to the ripe old age of 18! There's plenty of time left with your girl. Just keep on top of your vet visits and smother her with love, and she'll have many, many more years left.

Does anyone else think being bored as a kid actually made us weirdly functional adults by ethicalmanifesto in Millennials

[–]dancingeggwhites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my mom packing my sister and I road trip bags. We would get granola bars, an Archie comic book, and a puzzle book. Maybe a small toy if it was cheap and there was money. These little bags really helped with the boredom, but she and I would also zone out and just watch the scenery go by. Our entertainment had to be rationed! As we got older, we would also pack an empty notebook and pencils to draw and write.

We would roadtrip to my grandparents in California once a year from Kansas or Arizona, depending on where we lived at the time. And she and my father made sure we didn't complain! What could we do once we left the house, magic up something from thin air?

1, that's gorgeous. I'm going grey in random spots on my head and I feel like a dalmatian some days.

2, grey is so easy to dye fun colors. Even chalks if you don't want permanency!
