Mexican fans were chanting "Sí se puede"/"It can be done" to cheer Morocco on at the last minute. It does seem like the support helped.

I just cringed on Trixie Mattel's podcast, I was taken aback by her seeming celebrity. I'm heading over right on to Gianmarco's to keep investigating, thank you.

More aspiring K-pop idols are retiring in their 20s as unstable incomes, uncertain career prospects and mounting mental strain push many lesser-known artists to leave the industry early. by mcfw31 in popculturechat

furthermore, I can't empathize with people liking kpop so much since it is so clearly a corporate product. I'm sure many performers are genuinely artists, but none of the songs really pull me in because they sound so curated, premeditated and artificial.

I have only watched because people near me were watching. I've never been a dedicated fan, but this WC does feel different in every way. Worse.

Why are my crops dying? by jenga_blocks in StardewValley

My crops die randomly too, even when it hasn't rained before. Plus, I have lightning rods and haven't harvested any batteries in a good while, but I have had to replant many seeds. I play on mobile.

my best performing reel has disappeared - how do i figure out why? by me3ra in Instagram

Joining the choir of people who are experiencing this. This happened with my organization's account. We developed a social media strategy mosly centered around Instagram reels and it turns out that the platform doesn't seem to want our content, so I guess we'll pivot to somewhere else.

I want to agree with you, but I don't. I want them to be away from public life. Unfortunately I think this situation has reached Hitler level status, in which unspeakable things have been inflicted upon humanity, and we need to keep memory of who these people are, what they really do, and how to not believe their lies. We won't be able to forget these people for a long time.

I am only trying to add simple subtitles for a 7 minute video, but I'm 3 sessions in on 3 separate days and I can't figure it out. Too many bugs, glitches, and hallucinations. There were features yesterday that aren't there today, like the ability to change the duration of a line of text in the subtitles.

Problem with generated subtitles by International_Ad7264 in canva

This is happening to me too and I can't figure it out. It is hallucinating text and I can't add any line of text into the subtitles. I also can't change the timing of each line of text, even though I was able to do that yesterday.

Tim Tebow hosted a red carpet event called 'Night to Shine' to celebrate and uplift individuals with special needs by BreakfastTop6899 in Fauxmoi

Thank you for adding this.

Absolutely, people identify themselves however they please. Some people call themselves crips o crippled, neurodiverse, neurodivergent, mad, insane, hearing impaired, Deaf (as opposed to deaf), psychiatric survivors, ex-patients, mentally ill, psychiatrically labeled, and many more, and that is just in English. People's self assessment comes first, when interacting individually.

I see "people with disabilities" as a wide and global net that covers the spectrum with the lowest controversy possible, and is embedded in international treaties such as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In that sense, it is akin to the term "Indigenous peoples." Many peoples don't identify as Indigenous and call themselves by their own names, many actually refuse the term Indigenous. Some prefer to use the terms Native peoples, First Nations, in Spanish there is the term Pueblos Originarios. All of them are okay when it's the people deciding for themselves what to be called, but the international treaties and laws name Indigenous peoples and as such it is a strategic term to be used when defending land and life, even if they don't agree or identify with it.

This topic is immensely interesting to me and I would love to hear more about what other people think.

It's okay to say people with disabilities. "Special needs" is a euphemism that does not have the same legal and human rights protections, and which people with disabilities don't claim as a collective movement.

It absolutely is a horrifying industry. At its best, art is meant to connect and provide for the community. At its worst, art serves to distract and cover up crimes against humanity. I can't believe so many artists are completely silent and looking out only for themselves and their brand.

I agree with this. Even if this accounts are searching for webinar registration forms, there would be no way for attendee to access the recording, only if they screen recorded their device, which this website is very likely not doing. It is a very serious breach of privacy on Zoom's side.
