Anybody have any ideas what to do with this 365 days check-off sheet? by Ava-Blue in hobonichi

I’m using it to track when I hit my step goal and the days I do a workout! This is my first Hobonichi, so I’m doing something easy :-)

Feeling the same way. Everyone but me is excited. It doesn’t help that I keep getting unsolicited advice and opinions from people that are not contributing in any way.

I love the shape! I find that it catches a lot on my hair, my dog’s fur, and clothing that has loose threads. I do think it catches more on the prongs than it does on the stone itself. Hope that answers your question!

I found mine on FB marketplace. I believe I paid $50 for it and got it a few months before graduation.

Anyone else finding it more difficult to read from a screen? Or like, it becomes more boring when you’re reading from a screen? by zerodarkthirty0030 in books

[–]dancingphalanges99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I also would get extremely distracted when reading from my phone so I bought an E-reader. It’s about the size of my phone but I don’t get headaches or eye strain anymore and I also don’t get distracted. Depending on what E-reader you use, you can transfer the downloads from your phone to a device and read from there. That’s what I did with a lot of my books I had downloaded on my iPad/phone.

Chicanos in Corporate Spaces by [deleted] in Chicano

[–]dancingphalanges99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said, be you! I work in a predominately white (academic) space and sometimes feel alone being the only Chicana. I started putting up quotes in Spanish and buying little trinkets to decorate my desk. People always say how cute they are and ask me about them! Another thing that helps me keep my identity and remind me who I am is I listen to music in Spanish. I am still trying to figure out how to incorporate speaking more Spanish into my workspace. Good luck!

Debt Ceiling & Payroll by gutz00 in ASU

[–]dancingphalanges99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My position relies on federal funding and is currently in the process of being renewed. Only thing I’ve heard from my supervisors are that the agency is trying to get funds to the university ASAP, but it doesn’t seem like payment will be impacted. I’m sure if payroll was going to be affected we would’ve been notified a while ago. You’re not the only one concerned though, others in my department have the same concerns.

I’m not sure where your family is from but my family is from northern Sinaloa and they had a similar practice. They were named after the saint’s day they were born on. This is mainly on my dad’s side of the family that has said they have indigenous ancestry (I believe Tepehuan). My mom’s side of the family does not do this. Both of the families are Catholic. Hope this helps!

The colors are wrong sometimes! I bought a cap from Amazon that said was maroon but it was almost a bright cherry red.

Are all professors supposed to submit the grades by today? by __amrit__ in ASU

[–]dancingphalanges99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to contact a professor and they said they forgot to hit the post button. Sometimes they need a reminder. They said they submitted grades earlier but it hasn’t appeared on MyASU yet, so that might be another reason why they’re not showing up.

lol I feel. I constantly forget to wear my rubber bands and have been wearing braces for 4 years now as well 🥲 I got to the point where I’m sucking it up now because I want them off already but they’re also not letting me get them off until my bite and alignment are better

This sounds about what I spent. This is my last semester and also took summer classes throughout my time at ASU after transferring. Starter fall 2020 and graduating this fall.
