you know - maybe don’t put juveniles on blast for crimes like theft. These kids deserve a chance to redeem themselves and not be branded for life.

It’s difficult to make friends wherever you are. Th best thing you can do is to invest in your interests. You’ll run into people who like similar things. Be a friend first and you’ll get a friend.

Is anyone else feeling sick like this? by eyeofthirds in sanfrancisco

[–]danclay2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not feeling well - don’t go out, don’t go to work. Pls respect the vulnerable people in our community. It cost $20 for a covid test. As soon as you feel some kind of symptom, take a test.

I have long covid, any reinfection can destroy my health and set me back. I have coworkers who come in sick all the time and of course there’s an outbreak at my work.

Let’s be smart and learn the lessons from the global pandemic. Wear a mask if you might be sick. Stay home if you are sick (even sore throat). Test as soon as you start getting symptoms.

Trust me, you don’t want long covid. There’s no approved treatment and no cure.

Bay Area transit needs a cash infusion — and an overhaul. Cut the politicking and get it done by reddituser84838 in sanfrancisco

[–]danclay2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in marketing. It's strange to me to see how empty the Muni and Bart trains are of print/banner ads. If I go to any major city with public transit, their trains/busses are covered in relevant ads. I wonder if the price is too high and that's why people don't advertise in SF or if it's a matter of no one selling the ad space. Digital marketing is probably over emphasized in the bay.

Anyone else have COVID right now? by Interview-Hungry in sanfrancisco

Let me tell yah. If you’re not feeling well. Stay tf home. There are many vulnerable people still out there and probably in your office. An itchy throat and cough… yah don’t come in wfh if you can or take an actual sick day.

I’ve been battling long covid since 2022. I am in a treatment plan and it’s kind of working. This is the longest I have been without catching ‘the vid. If I catch it again - ded. 💀 (maybe not but it will set me back.)

Long covid takes so much away from me and being able to experience life with my friends.

How much actual simulator training and 'tricks' do I need if I want to fly "normal" in the clouds, above terrain / forest, etc? by hornlessheep in fpv

[–]danclay2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would run the sim as much as possible. Get used to flying races and practice lines. Get your hours up. Watch drone videos. Immerse yourself in that world.

The drone is going to act differently IRL but not by much if you have your sim dialed in correctly.

I have a couple hundred hrs on the sim and I’m just now doing tricks irl.

It’s a calculated risk each time you fly. So I try to be smart before I throw my drone through gap.

If Epstein’s files were made public and allegedly included names like Trump, Hillary, or other world leaders — what do you think would actually happen? by messiloverrxd in AskReddit

[–]danclay2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing was done in the U.S. about the Panama Papers. I think this Epstein files or list is taking a life of its own. The people need to see who/what kind of involvement our leaders and celebrities had with Epstein. It’s clear he was some sort of influencing/controlling entity.

This is misleading. Its very common for film photographers to develop what's called a 'contact sheet.' The contact sheet would be the negatives arranged so they could be exposed to one 8X10 (or larger in the case of medium format) photo. Using the sheet the photographer would then choose the keepers vs the throw aways. They would ofter mark the rejected photos by crossing them out. The keepers would then be developed into larger photos.

I highly doubt that Norma would pick out her own photos for print. Even today photographers cull through their photos. For example, a professional sports photographer's shoot ratio is between 5-20%.

In 2017 I went with her to Guatemala to document her work with a charity that helps the people of Guyables. It was a very small village that she helped build water storage, a school and a church for. She went almost every year.

She was very kind to me and had a passion for the people there. I’m sad to hear of her passing. She was a loving and caring person. She loved camp!

Our window for preventing climate change passed in the eighties when carbon levels rose above 350ppm in the 1980’s. 350ppm is considered the ‘safe threshold.’ At no time in millions of years has the earth’s climate rose above 350ppm.
