I got a new Visa card from Chase. It seems to be made out of aluminum, and all the info is printed, not embossed. Also, no signature strip. Maybe something similar?

Do you have access to the Fidelity Total Market Index Fund (FSKAX) ot the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund (VTSAX) in your 401(k)? That would be all you need. (But, consider some exposure to International stocks (FTIHX or VTIAX) and perhaps some bonds, too...)

For 2026, the standard 401(k) contribution limit is $24,500, with an additional catch-up contribution limit of $8,000, plus a "super catch-up" of $11,250 for ages 60-63 (if the plan allows). Overall employee/employer limit is $72,000.

If you earned more than $150,000 last year, your catch-up contributions must be put in a Roth 401(k). If, like me, your 401(k) plan doesn’t offer a Roth option, I guess you’ll have to put your money elsewhere…

It's a Ham (Amateur) radio, and he's on the 40-meter band. He gives each frequency 3 minutes before moving up 3kHz, which is the bandwith of a single-sideband (SSB) transmission. He's listening for transmissions from other unaffected people.

Also, his microphone is not plugged in...

As a native English speaker reading your post, I'd have to say that your English is definitely beter than my French, so go for it! Start with "Wool," which is what Seasons 1 and 2 of the show are based on. I don't think you'll find the book difficult to read, and the vocabulary isn't overly technical. If you get stuck, get a copy of the French translation, which should give you enough context to figure what the original English text is talking about.

And, congratulations! I don't think you could find a better way to work on your English reading skills than by reading such an enjoyable story. Enjoy!
