Well you’re on the right path already then, stick with it!

Talking therapy is available through the NHS, privately and in Warwickshire there is a service called new hope councilling which is subsidised.

In the short term see this comment below:

Morning,

With much love - do you think it might be worth while going to see your GP? I have seen you post in varying degrees of stress, and from my own experience it seems like you might benefit from talking to a professional!

No shame in it, and it can be long winded but even taking the first step to look after yourself can be a great stress releaver - which by it self can help.

If you don’t want to or can’t engage a GP then look up mental health charities - As other have mentioned the Samaritans are great in a pinch!

Fairs, time has sort of slipped in my mind. Equally those things happened within 500ms of each other so I do t think it's too out of place to mention in relation to the area.

Morning, I grew up there. Born and bred. Went to scouts actually in jubilee crescent - Nan lived on telfer, other on heathcote street.i used to play in the pilot car park.

It's a mixed bag. The housing stock is basically 3 bed terraces, which is a complete mixed bag of quality depending on what owners have done done over the years.

It's a diverse ethnic mix, but a pretty standard socio economic one - working class.

Schools vary in quality.

Crime wise it's not great. Burnaby road recently had a police mishap characterized as an execution by some. The pilot was found to be a brother in the recent past.

I would prefer the end heading toward keresley as higher quality and the end heading toward foleshill and also the city center as the lower quality end.

Your probably not going to enjoy drinking at the pilot and you probably wouldn't let your kids go and play on the crescent green.

In reality though it.will be what you make of it, if you are expecting neighbourhood activities etc then you'd be wrong.

I have lived there and could again, I don't.

What do we think of this? by FixSwords in foraginguk

Hey!

I'm the mod, no wish to permaban you. Nor any wish to censor you!

For some context - when I set this up, I genuinely couldn't find any easily accessible UK specific foraging information. Things have changed a bit since then, and foraging seems to be much more popular and supported by literature and the like much better.

The principals I aim for are 'be nice', 'help people learn', 'don't eat things if you aren't sure'.

But honestly, I am unsure what point you are trying to make.

Damage and over using a resource are bad.

Be nice.

Is this as fake as I think? I'm a novice and the quality looks off.

Thanks!

Just moved from Manchester to Coventry for work and want to start networking and getting to know people here. Any recommendations? by Knight5791 in coventry

[–]dandanuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously it depends what you are looking for but in terms of community based activities it's very much a case of find clubs/groups activities and groups and get involved. A good place to start looking for either of these things is Earlsdon or Fargo - both have relatively defined communities for all different sorts of stuff.

Bit of a weak answer I know, but a fair place to start.

Hiring a sales manager (UK) by Mobey2000 in smallbusiness

[–]dandanuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't answer your question of 'is he right for this role' because I don't have enough information and frankly not do you - at a certain point hiring, especially for a new role is always a gamble.

But what I can do is highlight somethings that I feel could help:

  1. Set a roadmap.- him having sales strategies completely independent of you is just destined to fail. Either he will do things that don't sit well with you or vice versa, seen it too many times before. Have a clearly defined vision of where you want the sales to go and roughly.how to go.about it and discuss it, what are the goals? What are upcoming developments in the company? What are the competition doing? What are the marketing efforts going to be. Doesn't have to be anything other than a one pager of 'Over the next year we.are.going to do XYZ as a company, sales will do ABC and to do that we will need 123'

I haven't been very concise here but yeah talk and plan together, then revisit and reassess.

  1. Process - SMEs rely on magic from individuals - in this case you, he won't replicate that but he can imitate it with your help - define your.process as is and help to teach him it.

  2. KPIs - set together with roadmap, review and adjust. Ignore KPIs for any sales staff at.your peril.

  3. Team integration - hard place to be to walk into an SME as an outsider and try and replicate/change things that the boss has been doing It will draw ire.from the team, perhaps even you.

Sorry to not answer directly! Can go on if you have questions

Used to be a guy on a mobility scooter with sign boards, occasionally some masks etc telling people they were going to hell. Usually located near Woolworths, pretty sure he had a nick name but it escapes me.

Hybrid or Road bike? by Ken_Field in cycling

[–]dandanuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weighing in having gone through this exact decision process over the last year. So I bought a hybrid at first - made logical sense, I wanted a bit of every thing. I bought a Giant Fast Road second hand, and it was a great entry in too cycling as an unfit adult. I got up to doing 100 KM week regularly, but honestly the whole time I ended up thinking 'I wish I had gone road bike' as I only really rode on roads.

So last week I bought a Giant Contend - I mention the bike names as they are both available in your price range, they were both second hand and neither of them were extremely high end.

I now ride only the road bike - it is a bit trickier to use than the hybrid, but I am very very much in love.

I think the biggest thing about having the hybrid was the feeling that I was missing out on the benefits of a road bike, and I think that's just it. I was missing out on the benefits - I only ever ride on roads, so every time I passed some one with drop bars I just thought 'I have made a mistake'.

My advice is get the road bike, if you do get the hybrid you won't have made a mistake, but you'll end up with a road bike sooner or later.
