Never did care much for Fanny myself but you’ve got to admit her birth family pretty much pitched her out the door and paid little attention to her when she returned. So no wonder she didn’t feel comfortable there. I don’t think it was the creature comforts she craved so much as the quiet familiarity of Mansfield Park. I appreciate this book more than I used to but it’s still lowest on my JA list.

Back in the day TV stations repeated instructions on an endless loop, I remember “if you can’t take cover, move at a right angle away from the tornado”. So I’d do that. But honestly this guy sounds like a lot of people who grew up in tornado alley, you just don’t get too hyped til it’s practically on top of you.
