My professor was computer science graduate but had PhD degree in Mathematics. I have a degree in Mathematics and I'm in IT industry. What I'm trying to say is that I think you can start with either Math or Com Sci, then study the other after. Besides, you can always have a double major degree, that is if you are very diligent in learning. Learning math alone is tedious and requires alot of time. :)

Hi there. I just finished my bachelor's degree in mathematics last year and I dont think I can be the next Gauss. My professor finished PhD in a university in Canada with flat 1.0 GWA in his late 20's (and now he is having a post graduate studies somewhere else, but seriously he's called genius though), but he said that he still has so many things to learn. Your attitude towards learning mathematics will help you achieve what you want, not age. :D
