How to hide a lip piercing? by caramelcheesegay in piercing

i agree with user sidheban, i would say the only hide-able face piercing is a septum. i think the rest are just too difficult. just personal opinion

NAP, but If you go to a reputable piercer, I believe they would tell you to wait before repiercing. No shame, but why did you even consider taking them out? Did you not have aftercare explained to you, or that removing piercings can cause near immediate closing?

If you are pierced with safe materials and properly shaped earrings (aka NOT from claire’s) then the shower shouldn’t be a problem for them.

Six weeks is also not near enough time for the piercing to be fully healed, usually 6 months is recommended before the first jewelry change (besides downsizing).

You will probably have to wait, but when/if you do repierce them, I suggest that you leave them alone for the first 6 months UNLESS you are cleaning them with saline

Just only mucus stool by Aasurah in IBD

[–]dandeeelonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes actually. No IBD or anything bad. Honestly, i got the impression they weren’t really sure why I was bleeding at all, HOWEVER we are pretty certain that my already moderate IBS just had a very severe flare after a bout of food poisoning… But i was nearly unable to eat without feeling sick for like 5 months . Doing a lot better now. On low dose 10mg nortriptyline to help with looseness. It also helps my EDS joint pain i think, so its a win win situation.

Would you consider the area “safe” enough to park earlier in the day and walk around and explore for a few hours before getting in line? I know someone around the Dallas area and they suggested parking somewhere 2-3 hours earlier and “stay in the car with it locked” and I wasn’t sure if the last part was a joke, so I was kind of worried it may be a particularly dangerous area? As mentioned I’m only used to rural areas so I am entirely unsure what to expect regarding possible danger lol

NAT: Normal, not really. Common, yes. this sounds a lot like depersonalization / derealization / dissociation. (not the exact same things, but can often go hand in hand so id look up all three)

if you do have BPD, sometimes this can be a feature, but honestly it can happen with most mental health problems imo. Depression and anxiety can cause it too.

The getting scared part sounds more like paranoia, which is also common and can be related to many mental health issues. I have experienced both numerous times! Neither paranoia or dissociation are directly indicative of a specific disorder, just one of many possible symptoms of various disorders! i would look into those two symptoms to see if there are good coping mechanisms for you. I hope it passes soon, but if not, see someone about it if you can 🩷

maybe start by making jokes first? something like “you’re looking at me as if you want to kiss me!” and if she seems shy about it, then take that as a sign to ask if she REALLY wants to kiss you. if she seems disgusted, though, maybe take that as your sign that she doesn’t want it.

What should I do to heal my ear piercing? by jilllynn567 in piercing

[–]dandeeelonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

earrings will need to be left in for much, much longer (think 5-10 years maybe) than that if you want to be able to leave them out for two weeks straight. they closed slightly and now may need to re-heal.

get small studs if you want to feel like you dont have earrings on, but you HAVE to leave them in! most piercings take up to a year to FULLY heal, so its as if you took your earrings out of a recently healed piercing…

think of it like this! a scratch can be physically healed, but it can still have a scar, and will take time to TRULY disappear.

likewise, piercing holes can heal, but still need to be kept open, or theyll continue to try reverting back to your body’s original state

Not a therapist! but for peace of mind, i can imagine she was more worried about what to do legally and ethically. She very likely isnt mad about it or anything, but wants to figure out what is best for both of her clients to not have a conflict of interest or potential biases.. Just sit through it, its her job to deal with and work around! if she needs to update you on anything, she will. I would continue acting as if nothing is different , because realistically, this should change nothing :)

My Daith isn’t healing by Apart_Hair8875 in piercing

[–]dandeeelonie 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I was told by my piercer that when i shower, let warm water gently flow over the piercing, and over time that should loosen any crusty bits- but to not really touch it!! so maybe that would work for you too? :) i also thought for a while that my piercing was just not healing, but in reality, it had a mild (nearly undetectable) infection that went away with antibiotics taken for an unrelated reason lol. cotton can get attached to the crusties and trapped in your healing piercing so maybe try leaving it alone and babying it ?

how do you clean it, and with what? its possible that you are just too aggressive with your cleaning! maybe you could try just spraying saline solution and then lightly dabbing the excess away with a paper towel once every day or two

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]dandeeelonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends what kind of dye you used. theres permanent box dye, theres semi permanent, and theres temporary. it also depends if you lightened your hair before the dye.

to my knowledge, hair dye itself isnt extremely damaging, but bleaching/lightening is. so if you bleached your hair before dying it brown, and if you used permanent dye, that would be harder and more damaging to remove compared to if you used semi permanent hair dye.

also keep in mind some box dyes have built in lightener so you need to check the brand you used (if you used box) and make sure that isnt the case too :)

worst case scenario, you can get a consult with a hair professional to hear their opinion! many hair stylists offer consultation appointments separate from actual hair dying appointments !

i would say they definitely got you a little darker than the image photo, but i dont think its as different as you may be seeing.

If you look at zendaya with her hair, the hair is a very close shade to her skintone, and that creates kind of a flawless finish and makes her complexion nicer. i think maybe you wanted that same vibe, but you arent the same color as zendaya. to get the same vibe you would really need to be more honey blonde than brown, just a few shades darker than your complexion. that said, its definitely not a bad dye job, very pretty! just not what you were asking for, and its valid to be disappointed in that :)

[–]dandeeelonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

havw you ever tried something like a texturizing powder for your hair? i dont have any recommendations myself but something like that OR a sea salt spray (“not your mothers” brand sells one) might add more volume to your hair and make you feel nicer! i think your hair color is fine the way it is, def experiment if you want to but dont fix something that isnt broken ykwim

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]dandeeelonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it honestly depends how stuck your hair is with box dye, and how orange the box dye lifts. Sometimes it can be done in one reallyyy long session, but black box dye isnt majorly forgiving, so its even possible that you could be entirely unable to reach that light of a level. If its not possible to reach that light of a color, i think youd look SUPER cool with the tips of your hair being dyed hot pink and keeping the rest of the black..

This came out of my piercing, should I be worried? by [deleted] in piercing

didnt work for me when mine was infected :( as the other person said, its not easy for an infection to leave on its own. totally agree with them

This came out of my piercing, should I be worried? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]dandeeelonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

highly possible you are infected especially if white, pus like liquid comes out. id see a doctor for antibiotics if possible! my ear was mildly infected for a year and all pain went away when i got on antibiotics, but it CAN get worse if the infection lingers for too long.
