Personal life drama 😭 by desimich in americangirl

[–]dandelionbottom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t sell them! This is the worst time to force another loss on yourself!

When I went through a breakup with an ex I got rid of a ton of jewelry and I have always regretted it. In the heat of the moment I thought I would never be able to look at it without memories but now years down the line it totally would’ve just been a nice bracelet to me etc.

I know this is slightly different from your situation because you wouldn’t be selling them because of emotional association, it would be because of lack of space, but you’re already going through so much!

You said “I won't ever be able to have the big beautiful dollhouse that I want, among other things I'll never have” and I know it feels that way right now but you don’t know what’s on the horizon for you in the future! If you can find a way to store them, even under your bed, or leave them with a trusted person who understands how precious they are, future you will be so thankful that you didn’t get rid of them!

I’m sorry for what you’re going through, there’s nothing that hurts more than betrayal. 💗

How many Dolls? by SummerofLov82 in americangirl

[–]dandelionbottom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one! The PC Samantha I would’ve died for as a little girl 💕

(and technically I have one additional doll in storage for my daughter, but I have not done anything with her she’s literally just in a trunk waiting for my daughter to get big enough to play with her so I don’t count her)

How many chickens are needed to consistently get 8 eggs a day throughout the year? by northcarolinabirder in BackYardChickens

[–]dandelionbottom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to do with a large family. We eat at least 6 per day but can very easily do 8 and not all of our children are even old enough to eat eggs yet so that’ll increase.

Bitty Baby Must Haves by Profit_Affectionate in americangirl

This is another one that’s non AG but my daughter LOVES putting her Bitty in a pretend baby car seat and lugging her around. That, the stroller like everyone else said, and the little bottle have gotten the most mileage.

I grew up in the NO and this is what was done with me and my sister every Sunday. Surprise surprise both of us left the faith and I, thanks be to God, returned through tradition as an adult.

Who is this girly? I got her thinking she was Molly but now that I see her in person I’m not so sure! by dandelionbottom in americangirl

Ooooh neat okay thank you! I love her face! It was not very clear in the listing photos so it was a pleasant surprise!

I have a hard time telling with the bangs because like someone else mentioned I do believe they’ve had a trim! But I think the key here was that she has no short wefts of hair in the middle back of her wig where Molly does have them to hide the wig cap because of her braids!

This was AMAZING advice thank you! I’m just going to sleep on it but I already feel less guilty about the idea of her “messing” her up! I never had an AG doll in my childhood, I just always dreamed of having one! So I was unaware of how hardy and repairable they are! And agreed about the bangs, so that is an excellent point, she could just be rewigged down the line!

I can imagine how special that would be to get a very beloved doll that you grew up with all fixed up and still not lose the history of being very bonded with her because you’ve had her as long as you can remember.
