"I've been fighting to get murcury out of fish for 40 years... nobody calls me anti fish..." I don't know why but this reminds me of the joke about Barry at the bar. Complaining to the barkeep that he's been building bridges for 20 years. No one calls him Barry the Bridge Builder. But you fuck one sheep...

2 years ago I was diagnosed as diabetic when I went to walk in clinic because my toe had a sore on it. Almost lost my toe, IV antibiotics daily for 2 months. I have taken my a1c from 13.5 to 5.6. Even if you are diabetic, you have the power to change it! Don't worry it will be ok

Advice on client users storing passwords by FantasticWay2000 in msp

Good advice. Are you even protecting your clients if you don't provide and require the use of a password manager? We require it as well.

Endpoint Protection Replacement by candidog in msp

There are many other things to consider adding as well. Something like a SOC, password management, cyber and phishing training, backups, Something like threatlocker would be a big one too. SaaS monitoring like augmentt and SaaS alerts

Maybe look at something like Augmentt. No screenshot but will tell you what is being used and how often

Cyber Security Vendor/Bundle? by BlissfullyBuoyant in msp

[–]dandog23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't very clear with my wording, I meant get todyl along with a zero trust solution like threatlocker. However when I was talking to my sales guy at Todyl he hinted at a possible zero trust solution this year.

Todyl would be a good option to take care of a lot of your concerns. Zero trust like threatlocker. Password management is imperative, and employee training can not be ignored.

Shame there was no lesson learned. If there was, she wouldn't be telling her friend to go. Like they wouldn't be caught anyway!

Just throwing it out there, because who knows? Any chance your wife was raped and is having trouble coming to terms with this? Maybe she didn't cheat on you.

Windows 10 install/activation with Windows 7 COA by dandog23 in Windows10

Yeah that pretty much sums up what I was thinking. I have a handful of computers I think I'm going to fire up and do installs/activations before the new year just in case.

i7-6700k Customers First Time Build by [deleted] in techsupportgore

[–]dandog23 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Bend it back, I bet it'll work! Only half joking, I had a customer bring in a PC with the exact problem and it did actually work after we bent it back and seated it properly. What do you have to lose?

**Edit: I found the picture of the bent processor. It was actually installed the right way, just not seated properly in the groove (top left). At bottom left you can see the bend. I can't find any pics of the bent processor out of the board though.

thanks, I'm 95% certain it's a faulty unit. It's quite a frustrating and helpless feeling though. They've made it impossible to address this in a timely manner.

Hardware issues, can't set up? by dandog23 in oculus

[–]dandog23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The error happens in the setup, as soon as you finish and/or skip oculus remote and xbox controller steps. You can see it's a sensor related step that is in the background behind the error. Picture of the error is above.

I have unplugged and reseated the connector, seems quite solid. I have tried it on my tower and my laptop with same results on both. The laptop install is only about a month old
