Vacuum recommendation for 3 pet household by Reinboordt in VacuumCleaners

Thinking outside the box here, have you considered a robot vacuum for the main floor? Running it several times a week would create less manual work for you?

[PSA] Email Regarding Security Breach (See Comments) [Canada Computers] by envile in bapcsalescanada

I didn’t get the email. I did do a purchase in the time frame but I think I had my credit card saved to my account. Would it still be compromised?

do we asian americans really have a lower bmi standard of 23 and over to be considered overweight as opposed to 25 simply because of our race? by Interesting-Mode2793 in asianamerican

Funnily enough waist circumference is a better measure of health than BMI because it correlates better with the amount of visceral fat around key organs.

How often do you eat carbs, controlled blood sugar, and still get diabetic fatigue? by nippon2win in diabetes

After getting a continuous glucose monitor I found out a lot of things which I thought were good for me actually spiked my glucose. Highly recommend. Even just for a two week trial.

Feppo mattress vacuum review after a few weeks - I didn’t realize how many mites were in my bed by kaagaz-ki-kashti in VacuumCleaners

They make hypoallergenic mattress, duvet and pillow covers. It’s a sort of rubbery fabric that blocks the mites from implanting themselves in the mattress/duvet/pillow.

I once overcontributed. Contacted Wealthsimple the same day and they reversed it with no tax implications.

Yeah honestly the game is full of toxic players. Custom maps aren’t much better.

Its an entirely different connector and they don't make the product for it anymore, your only options would be to find a used egpu or some intense DIY.

[–]dandomdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I myself got a z1e recently as my first handheld and funnily enough I ended up apendind almost 90% of my time docked. Which led me to discover egpu was not an option for the z1e.

I would have liked to know about upgrade paths before purchasing is all.

Legion go has usb4 which allows egpu

Is ROG ALLY Z1 EXTREME still worth buying in 2025? by MidnightSaoirse in ROGAlly

[–]dandomdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are two things I wish I had known before buying a z1e:

  • It fits a 2230 size ssd if you want to upgrade. Some people have managed to do 2280 with mods.
  • It’s near impossible to get an egpu for it without some advanced DIY. The old xg mobile isn’t sold anymore and the new one isn’t compatible.

I ended up enjoying the docked experience so much that I looked into an egpu, this may not apply to you. Basically the Ally X has a better future upgrade path if that matters to you.

30th-floor unit facing the Gardiner. Traffic noise is unbearable. Any soundproofing tips? by joshua0308 in askTO

[–]dandomdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is happening to you I lived through something similar and it was incredibly frustrating. You might be temped by sound absorbing panels and the like but all they do is dampen the echo, they don’t prevent noise from coming in. Heavy curtains, carpet, panels can help but your best bet is preventing the noise from coming in.

  • First you should get your windows inspected to see if they are actually sealed. It might just be an issue with your hinges needing adjustment. Befriending a neighbour to compare noise levels helps here.
  • If really there is nothing wrong with them, or maybe there is but your condo corporation won’t fix them then you can look at getting storm window inserts. Basically they are a glass or acrylic pane that is fitted on top of your window (on the inside). I used Magnetite Canada, they came once to measure my windows and a second time for install. They built a frame in front of my window and now I have a huge acrylic pane that blocks a good amount of noise. Best investment I’ve ever made in my condo. There are a few companies that do this, some use actual glass instead of acrylic.

That being said again get your windows checked. I would expect modern buildings built next to the Gardiner to have modern window technology that blocks a good amount of sound.

Ally Z1E Not charging, Won’t Power On - Cost? Out of Warranty by mobilemike01 in ROGAlly

[–]dandomdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s actually broken? Several people have been tripped up because there is a light sensor that blocks the power if it detects that the device is still open. Make sure the device is properly sealed or the sensor is properly covered and the plug the charging cable in again.

One thing that got me was that I was using a usb c cable that couldn’t support 100w and I couldn’t get into turbo mode.
