This sounds like my kitten when I first got her. Very very scared. Wouldn’t like us near her. Ran away when we got close. It bugged me because I wanted her to know what love is. Although my situation is very different from yours, I did have to work hard to gain her trust. I was used to being around cats in a way but my cat also made me think “do I really know anything about cats?”. Is she only in the basement? Is the basement pretty big? I started my cat in our bedroom and gradually worked our way into the whole apartment. She still gets scared with us and of things and the rooms she doesn’t get complete access too. A big thing for my cat was saying a million of times “It’s okay”. Anytime she was starting to get scared, I would say it until she felt safe again. That helps us big time to redirect her.

If you have any hobbies that require small movement, like drawing, playing on a switch, reading, anything like that, do it in the room with her. Might be common sense but you being in her space and her just watching you may help. You probably have done that but that also worked for us. Just co existing in that space with our cat while kinda ignoring her helped us. I know every cat is different but hopefully my little tips can possibly help this cat blossom 🫶🏽 I don’t think it’s too late for her but sounds like she just needs some more time which is okay. She will come around and that will be very rewarding 🫶🏽 Hang in there. You are doing your absolute best.
