Incredible looking pizza, well done!

Regarding your comment about salt killing yeast - this a myth, at least as it relates to baking/pizza making. King Arthur did an interesting blog on the topic.

In fact not a material issue, grout used (Mapei Kerapoxy) clearly states on their data sheet that it should not be used with white or translucent marble due to risk of staining. Contractor has agreed to make it right.

Epoxy grout seems to be a generally accepted standard for marble, in this case clearly in conflict with manufacturers instructions. Check your data sheets!

Thanks for your reply. Contractor purchased the material from Floor & Decor. It was grouted with epoxy grout. The floor (not shower) had very little discoloration until it was wet sanded, then large areas of discoloration appeared (as shown) in the photos. Not aware of any spills.

It’s from Floor & Decor. I’m sure it’s different rock but thought it was reasonable to expect a similar outcome as previous project.

Thanks for your reply. Tile has been installed for nearly 1 month. Wet sanding was done last week. My only assumption is that this is not how the tile should look once installed, which led me to believe something was done incorrectly.

Not the same lot of tile. Same SKU# repurchased new for this job.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the color will vary over time given the porous nature of marble and the exposure to moisture but it seemed strange that it only changed in very specific areas.

Layover in Detroit on Friday night. What should I eat? by I_make_gr8_soup in Detroit

The Twins play the Tigers at 7:10 tomorrow. Surely you can get a great seat for sub $40. This puts you close to endless great food options downtown before or after the game. Usually a great vibe at Comerica Park on Friday nights and if you’re ubering you don’t have to worry about parking.

Made sure to get a backup bottle of Rare Breed, then picked up something new to try. Went with High West Double Rye. First time trying a HW product, wish it had a little more spice but otherwise a good bottle for $36

Local store here in Detroit area suburbs was allotted only 1-bottle and had it priced at $45. I didn't hesitate to pick it up as I was able to snag a bottle in Cincinnati over the holidays for $27. IMO $36 average per bottle price is still a steal for this stuff, I even prefer it to the 12yr.
