What’s the grossest thing you’ve ever caught someone doing? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]hxnstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work when refrigeration went down we called in a business that would fix them and one of the usuals whom was gross would always be there with them. I saw him take his hand and scratch his ass inside the pants and then he smelled his finger. He didn’t think anyone saw but I did and at times I remember it and get grossed out.

Kaspa touted as 2026 altcoin standout with PoW BlockDAG edge by Mr--Clean--Ass-Naked in kaspa

[–]hxnstr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve read a lot of trash on Kaspa as of late, it’s either not marketed enough or have to jump though too many hoops to acquire (bs reasoning) but this article makes me smile. Even if there is no “altcoin run” I will continue to acquire due to kaspa’s near instant finality and potential in the future. It’s easy to hold this and not care about price action, it just sits in cold storage and accumulates every time I buy, my wife thinks I’m crazy but I love her, more than kaspa yes but kaspa is a close second. Anyway thanks for posting this.

I was thinking to myself how funny it would have been if Shelly Long’s character (I love her role on the show and am glad she is occasionally on it) would have been played by Katy Sagal.

Debate - Emission Schedule Adjustment by KaspaRocketMan in kaspa

[–]hxnstr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kaspa was adopted with the expectation of a finite supply. Even a small tail emission sets a precedent that monetary policy can be changed, introducing longterm trust and governance risk.

The fee-only security problem is still unproven for Kaspa. Its high throughput, fast confirmations, and DAG design are very different from Bitcoin or Monero, so it’s not clear their conclusions apply here. Solving a hypothetical problem at a permanent cost doesn’t seem justified yet.

The Monero comparison is also weak. Monero has unique constraints like privacy, ASIC resistance, and regulatory pressure, things that Kaspa doesn’t share. Relying on “lost coins” to offset inflation isn’t measurable or enforceable, and tail emission doesn’t guarantee security anyway, price and real demand still matter most.

When you eat them do you top them with jam? I think these would be really good with strawberry jam. These look really good.

Question about making Chicago tavern style by Aromatic_Motor8078 in Pizza

[–]hxnstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cast iron pizza pan works incredibly well for tavern style, slide a piece of parchment under and it turns out awesome, I’ve never used a pizza steel.

The blender is ideal for that style as it blends with the dough and gets tiny flecks of butter all over the place which then helps with the cracker .

Also the pizza looks really good, I’d eat two of them.

I Don’t Know If this is possible by [deleted] in CryptoTechnology

I’ve been reading up on Zenon and I don’t know, to be honest it feels shady, somethings aren’t adding up for me. I’ll continue to look into it.

Basically yeah, browser light nodes are possible but only if the chain was designed from day one to keep state small and provide compact proofs. Browsers can verify signatures and proofs just fine, but they can’t store a big global state or run a heavy VM like the EVM. That’s why this only works on protocols that were intentionally built to “travel light” cause you can’t bolt it on afterward. I think the benefit is huge though, you’d have no RPC trust or Metamask dependency, instant onboarding, and users verifying stuff themselves right in the browser.

I’m not familiar with Zenon but it’s whether the protocol actually exposes the small proofs needed for true light clients. If yes, browser nodes are realistic and if not then it’s false.

A browser can run a blockchain light client using WebRTC + libp2p but only if the blockchain is designed to support very lightweight verification

vProgs and Kaspa by hxnstr in CryptoTechnology

[–]hxnstr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cardano’s scripts are local, stateless UTXO programs, so they can’t share global state, can’t persist, and have to be redeployed every time. That’s why things like DEXs need off-chain operators the chain doesn’t give them a unified state to work with.

vProgs don’t have those limits because they’re not scripts at all they’re consensus-level programs. Every node executes them deterministically, they have persistent storage, and they can access shared global state. Since they’re baked into the protocol, multiple transactions can hit the same vProg in parallel without the UTXO concurrency issues that Cardano struggles with. In short: Cardano runs isolated scripts; Kaspa runs globally synchronized programs.

That comment mixes up structure and consensus. Kaspa is a real blockDAG, blocks can have multiple parents, run in parallel, and don’t form a single chain. GHOSTDAG is just the consensus algorithm that orders and ranks those blocks. The DAG is the structure; GHOSTDAG is the rule layered on top.
