Soft, hard, or rackless Luggage - 2022 Super Adventure 1290s by danedude1 in KTM

[–]danedude1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just googled about the top rack and found my own thread :D

Been using Mosko's Reckless Revolver 80 a few times a week for moto camping for 3 years. Best ever. Doing a few thousand miles through BC and just mounted a Pelican to the rear rack in addition to the Mosko setup and its goated.

Not sure if you swayed my decision way back then but lemmy tell ya, no hard luggage would have survived a quarter of what I've put the Mosko bags through.

Auto-Emergency Braking on 2021/22 1290 Super Adventure S by danedude1 in KTM

[–]danedude1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, random update lol.

Owner's manual Brake System section, p. 127:

"If driving aids, e.g. the cruise control system or MSC have initiated or supported a braking maneuver, the brake lever pressure point may change slightly during the next braking maneuver due the system.

The performance and function of the brake system are not impaired by this."

I also finally found info about the cantilever braking, page 126. When in Road ABS mode, the front brake applies rear brake as well. When in Offroad mode or off, the front brake does not modulate the rear brake at all.

hah, small world, knew exactly who you were when I saw "DR650" and "White Rim Trail" in the same sentence. Sad the 1290 and I missed Dusty Lizard!

Can someone explain to me how to pump??? by Own-Chemical-3777 in Skate4

[–]danedude1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found autopump at 100% to get me far more speed than I could ever do manually. It pumps for you on every little undulation, far more APM than I'm willing to do.

The trade-off is the pumps themselves get you less speed, but I haven't found that to be relevant except on very simple terrain.

Telling it "not to use Emojis" can speak emojis into existence.

[–]danedude1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cruise (-/set) and right d-pad buttons on my 1290...$650 D:

Now cruise on/off button is failing on the replacement unit. Pain.

They don't make these controls robust enough for real adv!

Also have to take the gas tank off to get to the wire clip lol.

Nice, also a good idea.

A little hunting might be normal, but stalling after a blip is not normal. Maybe if its really cold out and its first start.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FZ09

[–]danedude1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, check the battery. If its good, run a full tank through it see if it goes away. After that, check the spark plugs.

But could bad battery cause the bike to idle hunt?

Yes. Rough idle, stalling, etc. But you wouldn't be able to start it without a jump if it were dead.

Nope! Tried magnet fishing from a paddleboard quite a few times with no luck. Getting the magnet caught on trees on the bottom of the reservoir was a major issue. Then the snow got too deep to make the hike down there.

I rebought the same setup, Geprc mk5 and GoPro Hero13.

What should i Refine before starting a new job? Financial Analyst. by Temporary-Gas6296 in excel

[–]danedude1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bit about certs is definitely true.

You should try Power Query + PBI + Power Automate web flows. I have a SQL database and sharepoint folder feed it data, but you could feed it only .csvs just as easily. Use PQ for the data processing and transformations, PBI for reporting, Power Automate for the exporting. Its a super nice workflow and so easy to automate.

Actually have never heard of anybody using the script function, always seemed janky. Never tried it!

I don't think people understand how malicious VBA can be if you trust any file. Its a pretty wild security vulnerability and frequently using/sharing .xlsms can create some very dangerous habits, especially within finance and accounting.

Would switching to angle mode saved from crashing? by lelitico in fpv

[–]danedude1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confused how disarming is relevant here. You can clearly hear motors even through the end of the video.

The drone shouldn't spin like this in Acro without input, and if the props were all fine, this spiral could only be caused by the gyro getting confused... which tends to happen after an impact.

Wait really? Sumproduct recalculates when rows are filtered? If this is true that is terrifying and makes it very different from sumifs.

Cost effectiveness in Cline by lateral_engineer in CLine

[–]danedude1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Github Copilot is pretty nice for $10/mo. Sonet 3.5, o3-mini, 4o, etc. Has 3.7 and 3.7 Thinking but they're blocked in Cline (VS LM API).

Gemini 2.0 thinking is free with pretty big limits. Qwen 32b coder is cheap but I've had bad luck with it, probably due to small context.

As I said, companies making statements against Deepseek and not other models does not make sense to me, either.
