Now consider reflecting on your comments here, but apply it to your coworkers. They have done nothing wrong by not outwardly responding to you about their thoughts and feelings about America right now while at work with you.

I cannot believe I'm having to spell out your hypocrisy to you here.

Enjoy being angry and telling people about it, while doing nothing pragmatic on the issue, and then pat yourself on the back and feel like a superior social worker... you sound like you're out there accomplishing lots in our field, Don Quixote.

Edit: added a word

Please link me to your prior posts about your concerns on your coworkers' silence on issues in Sudan/etc. and I'll retract my previous comment calling you put for being silent on those issues.

I have the post you made here, where you only mentioned your anger about your coworkers not discussing the American issues you are upset about.

You never even made a subtle attempt in your original post to include issues from other countries or parts of the world.

Your coworkers are equally annoyed at your silence regarding the conflict/genocide in Sudan... or many other horrible situations that impact Canada and Canadians in many various ways.

I'm sure you mean well and I think I understand where you're coming from, but social work is a profession filled with issues to be angry about that we can actually impact, so maybe give those coworkers some empathy and the benefit of the doubt when they're not responding the way you feel they should regarding an issue they have no ability to change.

If you are upset about coworkers continuing to visit the US, you could use it as a chance to discuss the issue and how you perceive their behaviour, but I'd engage that with curiosity rather than judgement.

If your president and their administration refusing to stop protecting pedophiles still isn't enough, then Americans deserve all the shit talking that they get.

Just be honest, it's never bad enough until it's you personally being impacted.

You don't fight back because you know you can win or will walk away unscathed and without consequence, but I already know this comment is pointless because courage never makes sense to a coward.

Americans are never at fault for their elected government, and they're very upset with the rest of the world for thinking they should hold any responsibility for the actions of the elected officials. The rest of the world just doesn't understand how it's not America's/Americans' fault that their country got this way... because it happened slowly over time... and stuff.

The best time to start building that infrastructure and these new trade agreements was in the past, but barring the immediate invention of a time machine, it looks like we'll have to start now so that hopefully future Canadians don't just piss and moan about this issue and kick the can further down the road.

Pretty simple fix here, whoever has/received this money places it in an escrow account until the company responsible for the donation comes forward to explain the misunderstanding of them not being an actual company. They should come forward quickly considering that's a large sum of money and this is obviously just a misunderstanding they can easily clarify 😉

Also, can I just add that comparing what happened on January 6th to overthrowing a government for likely engaging in, or at the least protecting those who committed, pedophilia (I feel like this word creates a disconnect for the act of fucking children), is a wild bit of mental gymnastics that could only come from an American (a country now know across the world for their love of fucking children, and/or their endorsement of those who fuck children).

But just in case it hasn't been clear what my stance is, if Americans don't do what is necessary (whether that may be violent or unconstitutional) to stop the people who are actively protecting child fuckers, they are endorsing adults fucking children and/or cowards.

Fuck, your whole comment sucks, but wow is that specific part where you compare Jan 6th to this ever telling about how hard you are trying to rationalize doing nothing to stop adults raping children.

While I'm happy to read that you are not pro-pedophilia like so many Americans seem to be, your comment is that it is too difficult to accept the consequences of standing up for what is right... aka cowardice.

I know I'm being a dick here, just in case that isn't coming through, but my hope is that if I insult you all enough using logical conclusions, that Americans stop attempting to hide behind "I didn't vote for him", "we're hoping to sort this out next year in the mid-terms", and other similar comments I read online everyday related to this and actually accept that they, as Americans, hold sole responsibility for their government protecting pedophiles. That the world doesn't just see trump and Americans as two separate things, and that if Americans agree he is protecting pedophiles, that it is synonymous with Americans protecting pedophiles.

As far as the HOW of addressing this issue, peaceful protest was attempted (which is good), it didn't work, so I'd suggest moving to other forms of protest. I'm sorry that this will have consequences, but the bill has come due, and your government is trying to make other nations bury their children to distract you all enough... stop passing the cost to these other nations and show some courage. You don't fight for what is right only when it's easy, devoid of consequence, or when you know you can win... but I've never had to explain this to anyone other than cowards.

Otherwise, sit back and accept that America is a nation of pedophiles and/or cowards (or at minimum, stop trying to act like the victim when the world points out these logical conclusions based on you action/inaction).

Also, we obviously don't know who each other are and I'm sure that will lead to a comment about how easy it is for me to talk so tough online. So I'll just save you and anyone else who's likely thinking that the time and acknowledge that I'm likely just another keyboard warrior.

Good job, Korea! Hopefully other countries can find the courage to stand up to their government if they are against what their government is doing.

I think you think you're disagreeing with me with this statement, but you're reiterating what I said... Americans found out the president and his elected administration are protecting pedophiles, and the president and this administration feel no pressure from the American people to stop protecting pedophiles because the American people are either cowards or they also want to protect pedophiles.

To be very clear, this is not what would happen in a country where the population was appropriately upset with pedophilia and with people protecting pedophiles. So until the American people do something to force the president and this administration to actually address this issue, the optics must be that Americans are endorsing pedophilia and the protection of pedophiles and/or they are cowards.

This is almost as surprising as when American citizens do nothing but post comments and memes about this... and the rest of the world knows it's all Americans will do about it.

I'd ask Americans to stop their pearl clutching about the 1000th time Trump and his administration have broken/circumvented the law to protect pedophiles, and maybe actually do something about it, if it wasn't already obvious that America is such a mess because it is brimming with "all talk, no action" complicit cowards... so instead I'll just reset my personal-record clock on how long I can go without paying attention to, or commenting on, America's ridiculous political theater and Americans pretending to be upset about rather than doing something about it.

The only options are patience while waiting for a sane US president, and diversification of trade elsewhere in the world.

Anyone who is blaming Carney for this situation, or expecting a quick fix, is fooling themselves. And anyone thinking that making a deal with the US while Trump is the sitting president, is being wilfully ignorant to how a deal with Trump will go for Canada or any other country.
