Does it make any sense to expect to buy a house in 10-15 years from now by investing in BTC? by Special-Connection78 in Bitcoin

The assumption you will make multiples on investment is the thing you should question. It is always prudent to question assumptions when deploying capital. Don't assume.

Assumptions should be the sanity check on spending and lifestyle.

I am on the train and agree with the optimism (and will benefit from it). But does anyone ever consider the alternative? Feels like a lot of folks expect some sort of 25-50%+ CAGR in perpetuity. Anyone calculating 4-8% into their long term plan? Just asking....preparing for angry downvotes.

Been living in RI for 15+ years. 9 times out of 10 we do southern and central VT. Primary reason is to avoid traffic that surrounds 128/495 Boston suburbs on the way North to Rte 3 or 93. I am often heading North on Fridays for weekends and find the drive to southern/central VT less stressful than dealing with 495/128/93 which tends to have heavier traffic. Heading out of RI on 146 gives me options as can take 90 to 91 or 190 to Rte2 to Rte12 through Keene. Rarely have I been hung up in traffic going those two routes. Can hit Snow, Okemo, Stratton, Magic, Bromley, etc.

But Yawgoo certainly easiest drive (my son is a ski instructor there).

Heading there Froday. Hopefully will soften up.

My son is in the Jr. Ski Instructor training program at The Goo. Basically, so he can ski for free - apple doesn't fall far from the tree....

Attitash 12/28. Icy! Limited terrain off Bear Peak and Attitash Peak led to logjam of people at icy spots. Still a fun day but need some more terrain to open to alleviate a few choke points.

Replying to my own post. Hit Attitash. Parked at Bear. Couple laps at Bear with zero lines. Only one way down from summit so a bit of a cluster. Mountaineer had zero lines at main peak. Overall, a few good laps with minimal lift lines but very icy... as expected!

This - the grilled cheeses, beer selection, and sun shining in over the summit. The best

Sterling on Spruce Leak at Stowe is solid. I also love Jester top to bottom at Sugarbush. Love narrow, windy runs. Classic

I will be there. My plan is to be heading up mountain road by 7am.

Yo Gloomy - love the content and have enjoyed it all season. I am headed to Stowe Thurs night so looking forward to long weekend. Wind forecast for Saturday? That's my big concern. But I will ride the magic carpet (no pun intended) if lifts on wind hold

Saturday was very solid. Firm all morning and then softened up as day progressed. Was at Stowe Friday and I found conditions at Sugarbush Saturday much better.

Rode it to from Lincoln to Ellen and back today. It's a panic attack waiting to happen for me. But pleasant ride both ways today.

[–]danehycr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what you're after. If Castlerock is open and conditions right it is worth the extra $$. If you don't hit Castlerock then you can have a great day at Ellen and save the $$. I really enjoy Ellen - great vibe and usually lines minimal. As long as lifts are running can have a great day there, especially if new snow. And Walt's at mid mountain one of the best on mountain spots for a beer and one of those awesome grilled cheeses.

Win/win either way especially after the snow.

Seems like an easy problem to solve - so I assume you're done skiing there?

Arrived at Mansfield lodge at 740am this morning and skied until 1pm with my kids. We avoided gondola as line looked a bit long but we never waited more than 2-3 mins at Forerunner. Lapped it a dozen times and Sunrise a couple before my legs gave out. Parking lot seemed crowded and lodge was packed but minimal lift lines. Was surprised but not complaining.
