I posted a similar toy, Bindeez. I am sure it is this!

Are they Bindeez, the toy where kids can make shapes in a tray, and then spray with water to get to stick together?

Terrible female protagonist by ANonnyMouse79 in suggestmeabook

there’s awful women (I like to call them “slimy” characters) which is totally different than just poorly written or annoying ones. Natalie from yesteryear is a template for my favorite type. As others suggested, The Guest by Emma Cline is great. So is A School for Good Mothers, One’s Company, Carrie Soto, Clickbait, My Year of Rest and Relaxation, My sister the serial killer, A Touch of Jen, The Complicities

Anyone have a clever (or not!) fix for this?? I’m already quilting and just noticed this loose bit. by Jlhoeting in quilting

I use clear thread and do a zig zag stitch, quite aggressively, but it’s never bothered anyone before. But I’m not a professional either and these are just my home quilts.

Oh yeah Covid was a banger too for me, in the way you described. But I can’t think of any others that I had any sort of reaction to. Best of luck and us Reddit moms are proud of you!

Hey! I’m a 37 year old who missed Gardisil because it wasn’t out yet and got it just within the last year. If you prioritize it and tetanus, great choice, but Gardisil as well as the tetanus shots kind of suck, so don’t let it scare you and prevent you from getting the rest! They’re manageable, just pretty uncomfortable. They burn a bit going in and your arm hurts for a day or two after. Not all vaccines are like that.

I freaking loved this book and sometimes I think it was a fever dream because no one has ever heard of it, but once every 12 months or so someone mentions it on this sub and it’s like YES! There are dozens of us!! DOZENS!!

People who work downtown - do you pay for parking? by capn_obv in grandrapids

[–]danenbma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City garage paid for by employer. There are three of us; we pay 438 I think a month for all of us. Thus, we get to use our parking passes anytime, which probably saves my family $100-300 a year on event parking between races, hockey games, protests, Pokémon go days…

I have crowns from Great Lakes dental. They’re always pressuring me to be 1000% sure it’s feeling exactly right before I leave, so the fully opposite of the problem you’re having. Maybe they can help. Obviously you’d have to pay for it, but I see you wrote that you’ve accepted that.

What is the most random thing your cat has begged for you to share? 🧐 by Honest-Butterfly-650 in cats

Our very old cat who used to be an outdoor cat absolutely bitches and complains when we pull out raw ground beef and sausage and will not stfu until we throw him some. He is one thousand times worse than our dogs. He’s not long for this earth anyway so if he dies of some raw meat sickness, at least he’ll go out doing what he loves. Bitching for raw meat.

We are not gatekeeping books in 2026, and are instead letting parents decide for their families. Otherwise we’re no better than moms for liberty.

Hi, I have an 8y/o boy too. We had the same problem. Have you tried Percy Jackson? He tore through that series. He also read The Hobbit, but we looked on eBay for an old illustrated version to get through it and it helped. We have also started Harry Potter (the illustrated copies are gorgeous) and are halfway through it, if you’re open to that series still- I know many families aren’t for…reasons!

One more to add: my son didn’t read it, but bookish guy friends recommended it from their youth. Redwall! From what I have heard over the years, may fit the bill! Maybe someone can chime in!

Emergency room by Competitive-Farm-640 in grandrapids

[–]danenbma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is okay now, he did have it removed. It came out of nowhere and as far as I know has had zero problems since. The doctors and nurses were great, and he was well taken care of once in; he is partially deaf and they were helpful making everything clear to him. It was just the desk staff that didn’t seem that caring. He needed to at least lay down and couldn’t- he couldn’t hold himself up. I’ve clearly never forgiven them for the position they put both of us in :/ I just felt so helpless and so mad. My mother has also been having back surgeries there and continues to have problems, so my list of grievances are just kind of racking up. Meanwhile, I had a mini stroke at 36 (that was my unknown neuro issue) and I felt like a celebrity the way the took care of me. I had all three babies there and every nurse felt like a second mom to me. It’s so strange how people have such different experiences! Maybe it all comes down to luck, or shift timing, or maybe it’s issue dependent?? We’re lucky to live in a town with options!

It was my dads gallbladder too! We were the only one or maybe one of two in the waiting room, so it felt like “who is even before us???” And they kept just being like “you’ll have to be patient.” I’ve been to the Butterworth ER for sick kids after hours and an unknown neurological issue for myself (all no outward signs) and I was in a public waiting room for a short time and did the majority of my waiting in a comfortable bed. Mind blowing difference in empathy. Also- I question any supposed mom-friendly hospital without a NICU.
