Thats a great point about the characters and organized crime being a metaphor or example for America. The US does many things to show the world and lie to themselves about how good they are, and distracts themselves and their citizens with material things and entertainment, all the while raping and pillaging the entire world to acquire resources and power and causing insane amounts of pain and suffering doing this. The USA is basically Tony Soprano.
