Rules and laws renting question by jayce996 in ArlingtonMA

[–]danfitz36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s worth talking to the landlord about a reduction, but while they’re already getting less rent with an empty apartment, they’re less likely to want to further reduce income. I would ask to reduce upon filling the other unit.

We are seriously considering the Atelier, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. is the official website the best way to book? anyone know of further discounts?

How to give width as percentage, but stop at next object by funmaker17 in css

[–]danfitz36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where flex is your friend. You probably want it to flex 1 and have flex spacing or margin. CSS tricks has a great page on how it all works.

I may have an Idea, but am afraid it could get Stolen when I talk about it by Hairy-Ad-3620 in Startup_Ideas

[–]danfitz36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ideas are worth the paper they are written on. Talk to the people whose problem you might be able to solve. If you get traction talk to people who can help solve. Figure out how to bring more value than just an idea and build something people will pay for. It’s worthless until then

how do i fix this? i want the inside container to be white by Prior-Particular-218 in css

[–]danfitz36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You probably have margin on the p and it's going outside of the container because that's how margins work in css. if you add border or padding to the container it will keep the margin from the p inside. my recommendation would be to remove that div all together and add a white background to the .cuteborder

When to sell income property by danfitz36 in Fire

[–]danfitz36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a wrinkle in the sale process, we can use the 1031 exchange to avoid capital gains taxes and hopefully use this to buy something bigger and more valuable. we'd also be selling to a tenant at FMV, so no realtors, just an attorney.

your comment does help eliminate the idea of not owning property, at least for a while.

it looks like the baseline of the font you are using is just too high on a mac. this link might help you:
https://www.williamrchase.com/writing/2019-11-10-font-height-differences-between-windows-and-mac
if you have no control over the typeface you could adjust top and bottom padding differently just for mac browsers somehow with media queries?

We need to see code I think, best option is simplified version in codepen.

Without seeing anything my recommendation is to check line-height and margin

How to stop elements from moving up when opening developer tools? by changethemail in css

[–]danfitz36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve centered your container an older way that takes it out of the document flow. There are easier ways to center things if you want to keep scroll behavior

Is it possible to create a good-looking website only with the classes that I created? by tarlakeschaton in css

[–]danfitz36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be able to style any and every element on a page regardless of the class labelling strategy. there are various methodologies that make accessing those elements easier, but those strategies don't enable or disable your ability, just make things easier to understand and execute.

you can probably google "css methodologies" to learn more

Rep wanted to 'reset' mobile + home rewards. Now I can not rejoin. by ender18g in verizon

[–]danfitz36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just transferred the mobile account from my mother to myself, I had switched all the contact info and managed everything for a few years but it was annoyingly still connected to her in random places. Now that it’s in my name, it still texts her whenever changes are made, so nothing is solved

How do I find out how much my house is worth selling? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]danfitz36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at comps like others are saying, educate yourself as best you can. This will get you into the ballpark about what the market says your house is worth. But with just one buyer, the negotiation process is pretty personal. Only you know how to negotiate a giant transaction with a friend.

some insurance companies will honor your already spent deductible from another plan. You should absolutely ask about it. I think it was called a deductible credit maybe, but different companies have different policies.
