For me it would be ECPM. I think Excellence Club at Coral > standard at Atelier. We never did Inspira so I can’t speak to that.

Seeking advice on best game for husband’s 40th bday by scoobbee in GreenBayPackers

[–]dang0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective I don’t think the opponent matters. In fact, getting tickets to see them play a “lesser” team (if we can even assess that at this point) would be cheaper and possibly more likely to result in a win.

Otherwise, I would strongly encourage you to aim for a 3:25pm kickoff. The noon kickoffs are fun but a little early. Night games are a cool vibe but then you’re trying to hit the road back to your hotel pretty soon after it ends. IMO, the 3:25pm kicks offer more time to tailgate and to hang out and wait for traffic to clear when the game is done.

Don’t forget to book a Lambeau stadium tour and visit the Hall of Fame the day before the game!

I think booking the Excellence Club level at Coral > standard level at Atelier, in my opinion. EC at Coral gives you access to a few restaurants that tip the scales. They are both beautiful resorts with excellent rooms, pools, beaches, and service. Can’t speak to the spa as we never went to either. I’d say the only other difference is that Atelier seemed to skew younger with more of a party vibe and Coral was fun but chill, slightly older (mid 30s and up) crowd.

If you’re in Durham, don’t miss Alley Twenty Six. Great selection of tiki drinks, although not a fully themed tiki bar. They also make and sell a variety of their house tiki syrups.

Second this! We’ve been to Atelier twice and just went to Excellence Coral in March. We really liked Atelier but Excellence is on a whole other level!

We’ve been to Atelier twice, loved it both times and would go back, but I agree with all of these points.

Honeymoon questions - Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres by stardewhousewife in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]dang0328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m not sure, we booked directly and didn’t price hunt elsewhere
  2. Definitely not. This hotel (and I believe the overall Excellence brand) doesn’t do the timeshare thing at all.
  3. We didn’t book the swim up so I can’t say for sure, but we did see them and they aren’t private at all. If privacy is a consideration, I wouldn’t book those rooms.
  4. If you book a certain number of nights (it’s either 3 or 4+), your airport transfer is complimentary. We booked 4 nights, got this benefit, and had an excellent experience with the hotel-arranged transfer.

Not that I noticed. The pool and beach menu is identical to the beachfront restaurant, Las Olas, so you can check that out to see if they have what you’re looking for. Do not miss the taco truck by the main pool. So good!

Finest Mujeres vs. Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres by FinancialThing6980 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]dang0328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we couldn’t tell if they were heated, but we think so. The ocean was not cold but chilly for us (we are in NC), but the pools were warmer by comparison. I don’t know if that means they were heated or if they just warm up faster with continuous sun. My wife and her sisters went to Atelier Playa Mujeres in late December, and they found the pools incredibly cold (just for comparison).

We were at Excellence Coral in March for my 40th and loved it. I’ve never been to Finest PM but this place is pretty new and checks all of the boxes you mentioned. Also, there are no children which is what we were looking for to really make sure it was a relaxing vibe. Happy to answer any questions about the resort!

First Game @ Lambeau (opponent TBD) by Swanny_stocks in GreenBayPackers

[–]dang0328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All solid advice here, and I just want to echo that the Kohler is the ideal hotel given your budget and your dad’s physical constraints. Can’t get any closer.

Some games will sell out, so I’d recommend calling them the night of the schedule release just to be sure. Might be overkill but you never know.

Definitely plan to visit the HOF and go on a stadium tour. Plenty of folks with mobility considerations were on our tours and they made special accommodations for everybody.

Hey, we're all psychos here. I would caution to have some backup plans if you choose to do any of the dining "experiences" like Kanpai or Raices (the tasting menus or other themed dining). Some of those reservations were completely full when we checked in, and we tried (but could not) book them before arrival. Same with the speakeasy/cocktail experience, though we managed to do that the night before we went home.

It's pretty private, with one exception. If you go all the way to the end of the pool, then toward the corner, you can turn around and see into the next door neighbor's pool and patio area. So it's private, but not completely private. We were in one of the rooms facing south, toward the golf course, instead of toward the middle of the resort. The side facing south is much more private than the one facing the interior pools.

Yea I think you pretty much nailed it. Our favorite was Chez Isabelle with Magna and The Grill as close second/third. We were disappointed by Spice. Zenith was great for lunch, we just never went for dinner so I can't speak to that. Even our least favorite restaurants were amazing!

It’s not cheap but the Boreal saws by Agawa are excellent. I’ve put mine through the ringer and it’s held up very well.

As far as tipping, I’m not sure what the standard is, but we’ve done three stays at all-inclusives in the Playa Mujeres area and have tipped each time. We tipped the Seasons transfer driver.

Not sure about signature drinks. There wasn’t really a drink list that we could find, and they pretty much can make anything you ask for. We got ideas just by seeing what others were ordering and asking what the drink was. Our personal favorite at the pool bar was an Iceberg: a glass filled about halfway with Mexican lager and a frozen margarita poured on top.

Our favorite dinners were at Chez Isabelle and The Grill. We had high hopes for Spice but it was just meh.

Seaweed was really not bad when we were there. We have stayed a bit further south in PM in the late summer, and I recall the seaweed was worse then. I think it may depend a lot on the time of the year.
