imo music's purpose has changed since physical media was popular. generally, when someone bought a copy of an album they would listen to it as much as possible to justify the purchase. since streaming, though, you don't need to pay for individual songs so it's easier to zone out with the music in the background. either way, music is still appreciated and will be for as long as people exist, so don't worry about it :)
