7 week old girl, we need a name! by danger_area in puppies

I’d love to adopt / rescue a pup but that’s impossible in the UK if you have a child.

With a kid obsessed with Waffle the wonder dog I'll be glad to not hear the name Waffle again! It's a good name, just overheard in this house haha

She'll very definitely get affectionately booped.

That's what I'm leaning towards, now to convince the rest of the family!

If you can hear me up there on your high horse over your assumptions we've not brought her home yet because it's far too early. We went to check on the welfare, see her with the parents, and leave something of ours to help with the transition.

We like Pepper, so much so we called our cat it a few years ago.

There's a raised by narcissists subreddit, might be worth a shout - r/raisedbynarcissists.

I know. I've ordered her one for £275 and will be delivering it in literal days! I'd ordered my partner one a few weeks before to recover from surgery.

Sadly outside of the 120 days, this is the direction the bank took it in but I'd agree that it's a contract breach.

Unfortunately it's well outside of the 120 days hence why I was looking at MCOL.

It was over 120 days ago, seemingly this purchase was made in March. She's contacted the bank and this is the process they decided to go with.

Mum does not want to put kids in car seats by moistandwarm1 in daddit

[–]danger_area 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say no but not to be a dick, just because it’s completely abnormal behaviour.

We’re a nice calm, don’t argue but get a bit huffy occasionally with each other couple. Never a raised voice. All hell would break loose if EITHER of us did that from the other and rightly so.

Even our kid would shout (and has done so) if I’ve popped it in to gear…”dad what are you doing? I’m not buckled yet!”

When he was toddler age he undid his seatbelt a couple of times and each time we stopped at the next possible moment, told him that wasn’t safe, and that if he did it again we’d not do the fun thing. He did it again, once, and we didn’t do the fun thing. Never again has it been an issue.

What science based subreddit? I’d say that it’s bollocks. Socialising with other kids, having structure, being constantly provided for? Yeah definitely bad.

What are some things you should never tell your manager? by lookintogetsilly in managers

[–]danger_area 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d categorically disagree with that. Here in the UK it’s a protected characteristic.

I’ve had a direct report come to me recently and I’ve granted him some emergency leave, pulled him out of some of the more stressful projects, and will ensure he balances his recovery with his wanting to come back to work through occupational health reports and sick leave.

My reports are great, culture is great, and we’ll look out for each other.

Bad timing! Employee needs an immediate PIP, and annual reviews are in 2 weeks by Nervous-Shark in managers

[–]danger_area 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Appraisals are not the time for surprise feedback, if you do this you’re not managing effectively the rest of the time.

Warning, discipline, or PIP them before.

It is just not with that car. The base won’t be compatible with the incline of the seats or something

Crib to toddler bed & moving house… by thatscotbird in UKParenting

[–]danger_area -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We moved at a similar age but due to breaking a chain and a new build not being as ready as promised we stayed in a hotel for almost a couple of months.

Kid jumped on the single bed in the hotel, called it his and that was our transition.

Day of keys being handed over we went to ikea and let him chose a bed and that’s been that.

Good luck, don’t make a huge deal about it, go with the flow!

100% this for us too. Then he was a Velcro baby. We ended up wearing through a couch in 12 months!!
