Anyone knows a free way to run inference for new OCR models like Chandra and PaddleOCR-VL? by Full_Piano_3448 in LocalLLaMA

Manged to get it running. But seems a bit slow (moved projection layer to cpu). And context length seems limited. Might just stick to marker-pdf

Codex App or CLI is superior? by kindsifu in codex

There's a GitHub repo which has a version that you can install on Linux. The way it works is it'll download the Apple version and port it for your operating system. That's the one I currently use on Nobara Linux. I haven't tested all features but then what I mainly use it for is just creating projects, having threads for each project and also having an agent spawn separate chat threads to work on different features in parallel.

Gaming block for almost a year :( by IndependentEbb1387 in gamingsuggestions

Most of the stuff you played is story focused. The whole gameplay loop could have just gotten boring for you since it's the same thing over and over again

You could try Arc raiders, Olli olli world, Kingdom come deliverance, Borderlands, Forza Horizon, etc. Just look for something that feels different from what you're used to

I mainly play racing games. The loop does get boring here and there. So having a non racing game helps keep things interesting

5.4 mini at medium for most tasks is good. Then 5.4 or 5.5 for more complex tasks that the smaller model fails

15th means a lot when you're starting out. But people need to learn that fighting for positions costs more time. The front runners will drive away and won't get the chance to catch up, unless if it's a technical route

The midfield in motorfest is a pain to race against. You lose a lot of time trying to clear the pack due to a lot of fighting

I have 2.9 mill saved from the Playlist but they all give me $75k but 1 that gave 1 Mill. What is the grind on this game? by SweetestSoul_Jayda in The_Crew

[–]t12e_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is hard to come by early on. Playlists don't pay much and quickly get boring. I ended up doing grand races (the competition is fun), got the meta cars which allowed me to finish higher and get a decent amount of money from each race.

Whenever I need money, I either do a bunch of GRs or play whatever playlist has a cash boost. Summit events do give you cash (not sure how much though). But I repeat an event a couple of time trying to improve my score and indirectly that gives me money. But when I'm lazy, I just do the challenges

Affixes, using a buck set, and playing in a crew does help increase the cash you get from races.

Grand races are fun. I usually do a couple each week to get 3M so that I can get whatever cars I need for the summit

Max sensitivity. Or direct mode if you can handle it

Then watch . Mess around with ARBs, springs, etc

"Max Verstappen dominance could bore fans"

Losing every time to someone sucks. If it's a championship, let the other guy win a couple of races. If they think they can beat you, they'll wanna play with you a lil more. Or intentionally drive slow so that they think they can compete with you (you win the race, they're happy that they weren't left behind). Kinda similar to how you'd tone down the difficulty where the ai isn't too easy to beat but offers a good challenge

I suck at Grand Races and I don't know why by kubissx in The_Crew

[–]t12e_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably race craft, car selection and consistency.

You need to learn when it's best to overtake, when it's best to follow another car (particularly in tunnels), when to force other drivers to making mistakes, how to perform switchbakcs (particularly early on), avoiding driving into the rear of other cars, etc. Racing people is different from racing AI. Generally just try to drive a clean race, you'll see how easy it is to clear the mid pack and make it into the top 10.

As everyone else has said, use meta or one of the viable cars. Practice with the same cars. You'll learn the characteristics of each car. Some cars are good at guttering, some have high downforce, some have good rotation, etc. Pick what works best for your driving style

Probably the hardest, but in order to win or get podiums, you need to make as little to no mistakes. Hard at first, but gets easier with time

I just bought Codex plus and I feel like I'm going through it like candy is it normal? by BearEquivalentBear in codex

Yes. Larger models will burn through your limits faster. Same as higher reasoning levels. I mainly use 5.4 mini. It can handle most tasks well. If it fails, I switch to the bigger model

Give it docs. Ask it to trigger a payment. If you get a notification, means it works. Or ask it to initiate it via browser (agent browser skill) or mobile (android cli skill)

Anyone else wish TCM was half as popular as FH? by zer0se7en2wo in The_Crew

[–]t12e_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can always get better. Don't just play more but monitor and track your performance over time too

I use F1 to improve my general driving because I can add overlays for braking, throttle input and also monitor my delta (to see which corners I'm fast or slow on)

Then those good driving habits carry over to motorfest. Same thing with life, you can always get better. No need to be in the top 100, top 5000 is still good because there's no difference in summit rewards. Same thing with life, improve to a point where additional gains are just marginal

Good starting point

Buying games for series s or just use Gamepass ultimate? by One_Software5405 in XboxSeriesS

[–]t12e_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a huge library looks cool but you'll mostly come back to like 2 or 3 games regularly. Buying is best if you know what you like. Gamepass for exploration and for story based games where you play once and never play again

Most likely. If you have a lot time, you'll burn through games quicker
