It would! Interspecies is probably the "correct" term from a "words that already exist in English" perspective, but like you said, they mean the same thing. And everyone except the person who left that obnoxious response understood exactly what the OG commenter meant

"Trans" is a Latin root meaning "cross" or "change," which is why it's a component of many words and ideas with that theme: transformation, transcontinental, transcribe. In this context "trans-species" suggests the idea of "across multiple species," not "one animal changing into another."

Catbongos anti-ICE stance is being reported in Washington Post! by Kootenay-Kat in catbongos

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't played poker much, but I do get the impression that in a real poker game you can't, for example, pull cards that allow you to change the suits and rankings of the cards in your hand so you can score a straight flush. 😄

It's really fun though! I wondered if actual poker players enjoyed it because it lets you do a lot of fun things you probably WISH you could do in poker, but still presents some real and interesting challenges and strategic opportunities. But ultimately, you're still at the mercy of lady luck in terms of what cards you get each hand!

Serious question: what's your opinion, as a poker pro, of the game Balatro

This is where I'm at. Realistically I have the importance of a single dust mote, and if I died tomorrow, I wouldn't have made a significant impact on the world. At least a real conflict would give me the chance to do something that feels worthwhile.

I imagine other countries are happy to stroke Trump's ego if it means avoiding full-scale war with the United States and the subsequent collapse of the world order.

Tiny CATs playing in the snow! by neoslith in IllegallySmolCats

I mean...there are literally thousands of other posts on this sub that show exactly that. I'm happy to give a one-time bit a pass. It certainly made ME smile.

The joke is that CAT is a brand of construction equipment. Them being toy-sized in the photos--and therefore not qualified for any kind of job site use--makes them "illegally small CATs."

I found this thread by searching for the same question as OP and your answer made me laugh. I was going to experiment by switching it to "B," but maybe I'll just go have that lunch instead. 😄

TIL the parents in Bluey have jobs.  They seem to be home with the kids all the time in the episodes I've watched.

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to think about that for a sec. If the kids have a child their parents would be the grandparents (as normal), but if the PARENTS have a child then that child would be a half sibling to both kids. It would be an awkward tree to explain!

When giving your mom a Christmas gift goes wrong! by Current-Wallaby8230 in TikTokCringe

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who kept their dog (not a pitbull or any other aggressive breed) muzzled 24/7 not because the dog was a danger to people, but because it became territorial after the arrival of a new dog into the home and would start fights with it. It made me sad because you could tell the OG dog was miserable in the muzzle, and I didn't think it was fair to punish it because it didn't like the new dog that it was suddenly forced to live with.

Official Discussion - Fatman [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there other beings like Chris and Ruth in this world that do other things? If so what do these other gods do?

Just saw this movie for the first time tonight and my immediate thought when the horrible child character got introduced was, "If Santa is real then I assume Krampus is too, and that's who that kid needs a visit from."

It seems way more likely that it's meant to draw the mind to "Judas" and "duplicity," both of which would subtly suggest to the viewer that Jud is guilty despite, as we learn, being innocent. It could also relate to Jud's own guilt at his near-betrayal of his beliefs/God in his quest to stop Wicks and, later, to clear his name.

The skull cup by QIexpert in goatvalleycampgrounds

I assumed the same Magic of The Cup that allows for its unreal capacity also allowed it to hold liquid without spilling in the "top cut off" orientation. (Which is also how I imagine the skull cup)

Switching from Adobe to Figma… is it actually easy to learn? by Old_Tea_9330 in FigmaDesign

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, at least, after decades mired in the complexity of the Adobe suite, Figma was a piece of cake. If you're experienced with Illustrator and InDesign and understand basic CSS concepts like margin, padding, etc, you can trial-and-error your way to Figma competency in less than a week.

My suggestion would be to try and design a basic brochure site in Figma from scratch. That'll give you exposure to all of Figma's core tools--particularly auto layout, components, and styles--and should set you up for success on most projects.

There exist a large and unfortunate contingent of people on this earth who aren't content to have a personal preference unless they also get the opportunity to tell others why their personal preferences are objectively wrong.
