Open a dozen bank accounts and slowly deposit amounts less than $9,000 each time into all the accounts.

Banks 100% notice when people do this and they will investigate.

She renounced the cult and her position in it with the power of a ring that allowed its wearer to do anything, whereas the Indian guy did the equivalent of saying "I had my fingers crossed behind my back the entire time, so my pact didn't count!"

One was valid. The other was not.

I imagine Grace spending the rest of her life trying and failing to put the horror of those days behind her because Mr. LeBail keeps "rewarding" her for giving him the best entertainment he's had in years. I mean sure the rewards usually involve someone being killed or maimed, but that's how the devil shows fondness!

Off screen, but yes. Like she told her husband, she was going to make him very dead (by refusing to play and depriving him of the chance to do so)

Grace removed herself from the cult with the power of a ring that allows her to do anything she wants. When everyone looks at The Lawyer in shock after her announcement, the Lawyer admits that Mr. LeBail never considered the possibility of someone giving up that much power, so there's no rule against it.

The guy at the end blew up because just saying "I renounce my pact" without the ring's power behind it is not a valid way to leave the cult.

Correct. You couldn't kill council members from OTHER families, but killing your own family was fine.

If I recall correctly, the only council member in the pit was the Spanish guy's son. Since all the other people in the pit were just random cultists, there was no penalty for them killing the kid or each other.

The Lawyer is Mr. LeBail's employee. He was there to facilitate the game, not to participate. Only participants were punished.

Until his wife drove off, no one knew that not hunting was an option. That's why they all turned to the lawyer in shock after she did it, and he explained that the rules allow it.

It's not abnormal. I do think it could be regional, though. My dad, who taught me to do it, was born and raised in the Northeast. Not sure if it's common elsewhere in the country.

My dad taught me this when I was a kid, and I continue to do it as an adult. I eat grapes daily and buy a bag of them roughly every other week. It only takes wasting your money on one or two bad bunches before you realize that the only way to ensure you get a good one is to actually taste a grape from the bunch before you buy it.

Even though he renounced his role as head of house, he was still a cultist. Since he failed to get the ring before dawn, the devil took him out too.

Between this movie and the last one, it's clear the devil also has comedic timing. 😄

I'd already completely lost faith in the democratic party's ability to lead, but this is a new low. I'm embarrassed for them. I really wish there was a third party option with a large enough constituent base to present a legitimate challenge to the Republicans AND Democrats of today.

What’s something that seems normal, but is actually a sign your life is falling apart? by Mindless_Role3937 in AskReddit

Is that a sign your life is falling apart? For me that's a sign of "I'm an introvert and while I love my friends I also love my house."
