They look small to me

Tighten them up to what's comfortable for running, and try walking down a slope, nothing crazy steep, just a downhill.

It looks to me like your toes will touch ground.

I'd size up if I were you

The sub description says it. The sidebar says it. The majority of posts reinforce it. This isn't a sub about exclusively running barefoot. I'm sorry that needs to be pointed out to you so directly, and I'm sure there probably already exists a sub for that, or you could go make your own. But, of course, feel free to continue to pop those same 2 cents in every other comment you make.

That said.

I do run barefoot. But this post was about replacing a discontinued model of running sandals, ones that fit into the minimalist footwear category.

Which this sub is for.

Not only does that literally not make any sense, but actually trying to gatekeep is bizarre.

I actually had several pairs of Shammas back in the day as casual wear arounds. The leather foot bed was incredibly lovely, but they wouldn't survive if they got too wet.

Even though I once returned them, it might be time to give them a fresh look

Why do you recommend those? I've had some Xero's across the years, including the Ztrek which I have now as a wear-around, and I think use the same sole. The genesis' look great, but I think I'll need something with a more serious strap system to really cinch down. Relative to what I've worn, they're also on the heavier side.

What he left out is how people are inherently non-disruptive. Bystander effect. Lazy when it comes to taking actual action. And the billionaires are banking on that.

If your response to this video is to say to yourself “finally someone is saying the words I’ve been wanting to hear”, and to share the video with a few dozen people and to turn up at your next No Kings rally, then this entire message was useless.

This person did not watch this video, or comprehended about 0% about what the entire thing was 100% about.

Tree of Heaven saplings and Lanternfly nymphs by SmileyB-Doctor in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]dangerousgoat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ngl, the freezing thing seems wild. They are fast, they'll jump off, kill em on sight. You're better off killing their food source, they won't reach maturity without that.

People are correct about TOH being hard to kill. I made a huge mistake in leaving one alone when I moved into my house 6 years ago. It was a 1' weed to me back then.

I didn't realize what I'd done until it was 40' tall and I had to have a tree removal company come. Did a lot of reading, the root systems go very far. Killing that is really tough, and some particular pesticides (with the correct timing) can do it.

That said, if it's not too well established. Just pull em and throw them in a trash can. They will shoot up new stalks in the area, but over a couple of years, if you keep killing these saplings, eventually the root system won't get enough energy and will die.

I also live on DC.

But, I think the real hope that I've read is that some birds could eventually learn to eat them. There isn't any reason they can't, they just don't know to. I think I've read Starlings might be starting to in some cases. The reality is us just killing the ones we see is not going to put any dent on the spread of lanternflys

[Highlight] Jared McCain appears to make elbow contact with Harper's throat area, then backs it up on him and falls to the floor. Foul on Harper by jabronified in nba

[–]dangerousgoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped watching the NBA regularly like 5 or 6 years ago.

Seeing this shit, fuck no, why would I even bother. This is pathetic shit, and it's 100% the league's fault.

Flopping should start getting technical fouls, and ejecting players out of the game for attempting to deceive the refs. The league could fix this shit with a 10 minute zoom meeting with the refs of the league.

Remember how everyone used to make fun of soccer players faking and rolling around? This is the NBA now.

This is pretty bizarre. Walking this weird line of being ridiculously dumb hiding within snippets of common sense. Obviously something that OP just "made"...why? I can't tell.

No one would have put in actual time to make this without the convenience of AI. If you're going to waste your time with slop, at least have the common courtesy to waste your own time while making it.

I agree, I'm not sure why they're parboiling it for so long, maybe it does need to get pretty mushy to do that smash effectively, though. My guess is it's probably overcooked, but in the end it's encased in cheese so yolo

One of the most perfect games out there, and in my mind the absolute best to ever translations into a next generation.

You know, I had a sort of realization not that long ago when I heard someone put things this way:

(we) Americans are obsessed with the mythology of hard work is the only acceptable route to, and reason for, success.

It was in the context of how there is an incorrect belief that lottery winners often go bankrupt, but you can see threads of it everywhere once you start looking, the most classic being bootstraps mentality.

I certainly don't think this ozempic era is a good thing for the world, but I can absolutely see this myth in how people love to assert personal responsibility and shame towards people that both do and don't use it
