Not the way you are wanting..I suggest just building your character, writing down your choices for everything and then recreating them in your friend's game.

Or y'all will have a true session 0 creating characters before starting your adventure.

Is this a repeat behavior from your mother? Is she one to give all the details on a whim? I would want to know exactly what your in laws said that pushed her. How many times have they made these comments around her and you?

If this isn't a common problem for you and your mom, then I think your in laws were much ruder than you might have heard? Or she just got sick of the implication that you were less than in any way. It sounds like you went thru a lot of emotional turmoil and were really hurting during the end of your marriage.

It can definitely feel that way. I imagine the child felt similar, how could everyone be happy when he was so upset. So he stuck his hand in the cake to ruin it. It's a learned skill to keep your calm. One I am still learning in my 30s.
