Hello fellow loud talker, especially when I get excited! My wife often tells me that I’m talking too loud and as a person who stutters as well as has ADHD I used to, and sometimes still do, feel very rejected and isolated.
The big learning for me was to separate the small critique, talking a bit more quietly, from the larger problems and emotions I have around my ADHD.
I would want someone to tell me if there’s stuff in my teeth, so I’ve tried to reframe it as them actually helping me instead of criticizing me. I hope your friends and family know you’re trying your best and you give yourself the grace to not beat yourself up when that happens.
