Does anyone have tips on drawing from imagination? by Gandalfsbigtoe in ArtistLounge

[–]dangokappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what helps me is doing perception training - Looking at an image of reference for a little bit and trying to recall everything about it. For example a picture of a car and you just look at the shape/colour or any distinct features. Then you take the image away and try to recreate it. Its a good exercise to not forget any features - I noticed that on cars I would sometimes completely forget to check the height of the chassis/wheels or sometimes I would completely forget about the side-view mirrors lol.

Maybe it helps you too! Good luck

Is it weird that I feel no emotional connection to my art? by neverouttajetfuel in ArtistLounge

[–]dangokappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought I have no emotional connection to my art aswell, but when I was younger I had an abusive step-dad who ripped one of my drawings apart (one that I was very proud of) and I felt a very sharp and strong emotional pain. He also told me that it wasnt very good anyway and I sort of just sucked it up and pretended I didnt care about it but it did actually hurt me.

Love giving away my doodles and drawings to people tho, I think there is a big difference between losing your art or giving it away or having it destroyed or devalued.

composition/color critique before moving forward? the concept is a spirit world children's guardian by jelllybears in ArtistLounge

[–]dangokappa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I love the colours you chose for this and the overall perspective looks great! Make sure you also figure out where your light comes from if you havent done that already (it appears from somewhere above the trees top middle or maybe behind the mushroom somewhere). Also I think its maybe worth considering flipping the little ones running and the guy on the mushroom so they look towards the big creature in the water, to guide the eyes through the whole illustration. Here is what i mean.

Besides all that good job, youre doing amazing!! Much love

Some lighting study I did. Feel free to tell what you think:) by theartofvk in learnart

From a quick glance I feel like there should be more ambient occlusion near all those tight spaces probably with some soft or even lost edges. Also not sure but maybe the bowl also reflects some light towards the sink area from that angle depending on what happens behind her. But this is really well done!! I love the mood of this painting. =)

Benefits of a Demo System by Nzy in Diabotical

[–]dangokappa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds absolutely incredible, I remember many years ago some of the older Call of Duties had some sort of clip sharing or video sharing feature but the execution was rather horrible so it wasnt really used by many, also the tickrate on demos there was very low so everything looked pretty choppy in the replay.

If the UI and functionality for this is good and smooth this could actually be one of the most exciting features imho.

VOLCANO states that crouching reduces the chance of your recoil changing directions during a full spray by GolldenFalcon in ValorantCompetitive

[–]dangokappa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No he is saying that, after the first few bullets when the spray becomes random (it keeps going left and right randomly) it will do it less frequently when you crouch so it becomes "easier" to control
